Christmas Eve 1965 found us at our half-completed house in San Vicente Village. We now have Christian (Vincent Christian), named after the 400th anniversary of Christianity in in the Philippines and for Sts. Vincent Ferrer and Vincent de Paul, both patron saints of San Roque Parish. Christian was born on July 26, 1965. We built a lighted snowman for our small lawn but brought him inside for this family photo. Because Stella Maris School was closed, we transferred Carlo as a first grader to USP - Mabini for convenience. Since there were no transportation facilities from the Village to the highway, Daddy & Carlo walked along the rice paddies (now Singzon Village) then took a jeepney up to in front of the Trade School, where they walked again to USP. The IH delivery truck driver, Exequiel Romarate, picked him up at noon for lunch at the IH canteen and then brought him back to school after lunch. After afternoon classes, Carlo walked to Filipro.
