On April 17, April 18 and April 19, 2009 there will be a Daughters of the Moon Women's retreat. This retreat has been held for the last 9 years to celebrate their sisterhood. Past favorite and current favorite rituals will be featured at this mini festival.
The Daughters of the Moon Women are women who are connected in their worship and celebration of the Goddess in them even though they may have gone their own separate spiritual paths. This group of women is called by their different names. Maiden the young and carefree girl, Mother that provides protection and care and the Crone that comes with her wisdom and experience of life.
One of the aims in having this Daughter of the Moon Women's retreat is to learn more about their womanhood mysteries. Celebrating their womanhood is the second aim of the retreat. They will be celebrating by the use of their voice in their songs, their feet in their dances and their heart when they meet with their friends.
An admission fee of $45.00 is charge if you wish to join the retreat. For every $1.00 from the admission fee will be donated to the Sophias House. The Sophias House is a woman and child shelter home for the victims of domestic violence. The retreat will be held at the Meeman-Shelby State Park, Piersol Campground. The retreat will officially start with the registration on Aril 17 from 4:00 P.M. and will officially end on April 19 2:00 P.M.
Men are not allowed in the Daughters of the Moon Women's retreat. Only children 1 year old and still breastfeeding are allowed to enter. Children that 13years old and below are also not allowed to enter. No tent is allowed because the cabin will be where the members will be sleeping. All members are expected to clean their own rooms and restrooms.
