Another World is a 2D cinematic platform game released in 1991 for Amiga 500. I remember it as beeing one of the greatest adventure/platform games I've played. The atmosphere, character animations and story was amazing.

Last year a high resolution collectors edition of the game was released. I've just installed it and started playing the first levels. It's wonderful. It's just as good as I wanted it to be. I seldom play games nowadays, but this is one I have been looking forward to.

OMG!! I remember that game!! I was 8 when i was addicted to 'Out of this world'...

I din't know that a new version was released!! I'm ready to play!!

Not just Amiga ... :P

It looks extremely familiar, and I thought I had played it on my Atair ST. After a little digging on Wikipedia, I realize that it's not Another World that I've played, but Future Wars! Another great game that Eric Chahi worked on. :)

Update: No, wait. I must have played Another World as well... It looks too familiar. :psmurf:

Future Wars is also a classic game, but extremely difficult. I remember getting stuck quite early in that game, somewhere in the medieval ages with a lot of monks.

It is true, that older games had some kind of magic, mostly because developers were forced to design it in a more subtle way, because they didn't have such technical capabilities (graphics, CPU power, memory...).

BUT; it is us who were younger then!!! When I was a kid, even the dirtiest stick could have magical powers...

Yep. pixel art is the best. I've just decided to draw a pixel map of my home and favorite places where I grew up, just for fun..

I just finished playing Another World. It was great, but much shorter than I remembered. I played most of it together with Mattias and Robert last thursday, and I think Mattias played some of the hardest levels.

wow. i remember this game. i was so really young when this came out. i saw a live demo of it at fry's and i think it was the first 3d game i'd ever seen. i remember it was incredibly hard though.
