Nääs

Taking a walk in the surroundings of Nääs castle. The castle itself is beeing renovated now so no photo of it this time. This is another nice house nearby. I like the typical Swedish style with red and white colors, and the contrast with the dark skies and sunshine at the same time. It was almost about to start raining... but it didn't.

Hundreds of years ago a trend started in Sweden where almost all houses were painted in red and white. The red color was cheap and came from the Falu coppermine, it contained minerals that made the paint last longer and it quickly became popular.
