Sand sand sand!

, ,

Hello folks!
It's spring time! And this is my first blog post!
Can it be better than that?

I think i'll use this blog to write about technical things, related to software developement and things like that.
I will also write about projects i'm working on. I do lots of software developement as a hobby, apart from my full-time job at Opera Software.

Most of my projects haven't been released yet (or even talked or written about) outside the small beta-testing group. And some are still only plans or ideas. But until i have something better to write about, i'll write about sand.
That's right! Sand!
Virtual of course!

Your artificial playground

MarmaladeCvs is one of my released projects.
It is a cvs client. You may not know what a cvs client is, but that doesn't matter. That's not what this blog post is about.
I built in a small easter-egg, in which you can pour virtual sand in different colours.
You can paint bowls, funnels, or anything you like, pour sand over it, make holes in them or flip the entire surface upside down.

There is no goal, except having a few minutes of fun when you wait for something. Or when you just want to take a short break and do something relaxing.

Try it out!

It's freeware and can be downloaded on my project webpage here.
When you have started the application from the installation folder, just click the icon that looks like:

That's all for now.
Have fun!

There is another thing which you can start by pressing ctrl+shift+F5.
It was a test made for a gas-spreading algorithm in a 2d action game.
It ended up in MarmaladeCvs because i was to lazy to create a new project

how do you make bowls and funnels and stuff, sorry! oo, yah, this is soo cool!

Emil Segerås 9. May 2007, 05:34

You need a 3 button mouse to do that.
I will make a fix for that in the next release, since many people don't have that (or have the third button programmed to do something else).
