About me

Hi everyone! I'm new to this world of blogging, but not of writing - because that's what I am at heart - just ask my daughter, or anyone else who knows me. I've lived a lot of different places - calling each one home - from the east coast to the west coast and just about everywhere in between. Home, now, is where it all began for me.

I live in New York, on what natives call the island, though the rest of the world calls it Long Island. I live in Elmont, first town across the border from Queens and the hecticness of the city. One of the reasons I love where I live, is because, here, I have it all. Whatever type of setting I want to be in, I can be there within a few hours' travel --- whether it's the calm and serenity of the seaside; the crazy, fast pace of the city; or the majestic beauty of the mountains, a short trip by car, bus, or train and I can be there in no time.

I am the proud mother of a wonderful, loving, caring and giving teenage daughter, whom I know will one day make all of her own dreams come true. We live with my elderly aunt, who after many years of taking care of me, I am finally able to repay, by being there for her when she needs me most.

I am a writer, and an author, and a woman who is struggling to finally come into her own. I am many things to many different people, and I am also, now, on my own once again in this existence we call life. And I am happy.

I know what I want from life and I'm taking steps to make my own dreams come true - no help needed or necessary on that point, just a little encouragement along the way would be nice. I'm self-sufficient and strong enough to stand up to the fiercest winds sent my way to dissuade me, but I could be persuaded to stop and have a little fun along the way.

I am loving and giving, honest and trustworthy. I love to party and I love to have fun. I'll try anything once, and if I like it, I'll do it again. If I don't, well, at least I'm richer for the experience.

So don't be shy, stop by and say hello. A beautiful friendship that will last forever is just around the bend, waiting for us.

My work

I am a mother first, a personal care companion for my elderly aunt second, and an author and graphic designer last.
Caring and providing for my family always comes first in my life. My daughter and my aunt are my life, my work, my everything.
But I am a woman with a heart full of dreams - dreams that I have realized, only I can make come true.
I am an author - of essays and short stories which will grab your heart, make you examine your soul, and never let go once they have touched you.
I am a graphic designer, who has found a way to blend her creations with the technology of the computerized world, to make unique, personal designs for everyone - whether it is for personal or business use.
My life encompasses all of these aspects - my work, to me, is not work at all.
And isn't that just what our work should be? For, if we do not enjoy what we do everyday, we cannot succeed at it, and be happy and complete children of this world that we call earth.
