3. Exit Du'aa:

References:

Entering with left foot and exiting with the right
• `A’isha relates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to like to start with the right side when putting on his sandals, combing his hair, engaging in his ritual purifications, and in all of his activities.[Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim]

Entrance Du’aa
• Narrated By Anas: Whenever the Prophet (sal-Allâhu alayhi wa sallam) went to answer the
call of nature, he used to say, "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khaba'ith i.e.
O ALLAH, I seek Refuge with You from all offensive and wicked things (evil deeds and evil
spirits)."(Bukhari, 144)

"[بِسْمِ اللهِ] اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُْثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ".

[Bismillaahi] Allaahumma 'innee 'a'oothu bika minal-khubthi walkhabaa'ith.

(Before entering) In the Name of ALLAH, O ALLAH , I seek refugee in You from Al-Khubth (the male) and Al-Khabaa’ith (female) unclean jins/spirits.

[Al Bukharee, The Book of Ablution, Hadith 142; Muslim, The Book of Menstruation, Hadith 375]

• Narrated from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may ALLAH be pleased with him) that the Messenger of ALLAH (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said: “A screen will be placed between the eyes of the jinn and the ‘awrah of the sons of Adam when one of them enters the toilet, if he says ‘Bismillaah (in the name of ALLAH).” (Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 496).

Exit Du'aa:

"غُفْرَانَكَ".
(Ghufraanaka ~ I ask You (ALLAH) for forgiveness.)
[Aboo Dawood, The Book of Purification, Hadith 30; At-Tirmidhee, The Book of Purification, Hadith; Ibn Maajah, The Book of Purification and Its Sunan, Hadith 300]

• When leaving the toilet, go out with your right foot first and recite:
Ghufraanak. Alhamdulillaahilladhee adh-haba annill adhaa wa ‘afaanee
Oh ALLAH I seek Your forgiveness. All praises are due to ALLAH who has taken away from me
discomfort and granted me relief. (Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah and Tirmidh)
