John philbin is surfing instructor in Malibu. he also easily taught actress and novice surfer Kate Bosworth how to confidently skim along the water for her part as a professional surfer in the new teen movie, “Blue Crush.”

Each year, he not only surfs in California, but also journeys to Java, Indonesia for G-land camp where he says the world’s best surfers gather annually to enjoy the world’s best waves.
