feelings
I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they´re blowing
As free as the wind
And hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing
It was fun for a while
There was no way of knowing
Like dream in the night
Who can say where we´re going
No care in the world
Maybe i´m learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing

friends, feelings
hi guys, here i am. i've been kinda busy in these days and i spent a lot of time visiting new places in tokyo and travelling by shinkansen. didn't sleep too much so...
ok, now i'm sitting at my desk, in the office. it's raining so no football or baseball game with colleagues today. yesterday evening hisa organized an okonomiyaki party at his house so we cooked and ate all together. it was fun. okonomiyaki wa oishi des. we really enjoyed the evening, played with playstation soccer games and didn't think to anything. i like my friends, i like this place. although yuriga-oka is kinda boring place, spending lot of time outside make me feel alive. next weekend i'm going again to tokyo. i will stay with my friend k, hearing her words and looking her eyes while she will talk about architecture and dreams. i will tell her my news about mirror resonance (yeah guys....we added the damping factor - gosh!). and, also, that i'll miss her. friday night, sendai.
peace,
g.

food, culture, friends
so they took me to this place in sendai, "you should try it". the yakitori ya was one of the best places ever seen, really japanese. you had to see the people, the atmosphere, the colors, the light (or shade)...everything. the service and the food were excellent. it was also a good chance to get a lesson of applied japanese: i learnt how to bow (there should be a movie about it in the internet!) and new things. of course we drank beer that time (hey....japanese beer). and nobody of us drove that night. never happened in italy. thanks guys.

friends, volleyball, food
so today, after having exchanged kinda 10 emails, hisa arrived with this two tickets for the volleyball worldcup tournament and ask me if i wanted to go. but we were three, with just two tickets. ok, we said, let's divide the price of the third ticket. and then, while that gracious old woman was picking up our ticket we asked...hey, isn't there any discount for students? or international students? or just for italian people, i don't know, something like that...well, we got it free. that's what in italy we call "sgamo". the match was beautiful, brazil won against peru (3-0). names like paula and fabiana made me felt like in europe. after, we had dinner in an italian restaurant, "mia angela", in sendai. expensive but oishi (maybe something to say about the fake espresso i had at the end).
and...well...the best thing was the good company of my nihon mates. their words and kindness.
beautiful evening. now i'm back at home. tomorrow, office.

friends, knowledge, globetrotting
well, i cannot exactly say if it was the best, but it was good at all. and i guess it would have been a pleasure to use it in the high tech toilet of the hotel, after having learnt how to use the "washing consolle" (or called the help desk...).
i'm really sorry that k. payed with her pyjamas (and health) our thirst of knowledge. and it's better not to talk about this fact anymore, because i risked to die due to laughs.
ok...it's true almost everything that it is written in aomori official web page. i liked this city and the whole area. people really spoke english at the information centre! modern art museums were fascinating and interesting, my guide well prepared.
moreover, i recommend to visit the ancient hakkoda-maru in aomori bay.
kouyo in towadako was amazing. food was...well...let's just say interesting. i will upload pictures this evening (now i'm at the office!).
if some of you guys plans to go and visit this area, i really recommend JR east pass (of course you can use the japan rail pass), you can travel from tokyo to aomori by local and shinkansen trains, use some buses (somethimes you just have to say pleeeeeeeaaase!) and all of this at a really convenient price. even better if you're young.

friends, food, globetrotting
hi all. i'm looking at the interesting options of this space and soon i'll add pictures. i just have few minutes but i want to write some words to my new international readers (if i have some!)...i had an interesting day in laboratories today and now i'm getting ready for the weekend. i'm free this friday and i'm moving to northern honshu to visit aomori prefecture, to feel its cold and to taste its water that, according to lonely planet guide and aomori city official informations, should be the best of japan. really? ok,i'll tell you soon.
oh, today i ate new "interesting" things. using the translations my nihon mate takashi has provided, i selected a new bento, something amazing with rice, onions and meat. and, pay attention please, i drank a delicious corn soup from a can (also provided by taka). never had soup from a can, it was funny
eating-corn-by-drinking it. ok. ittekimasu. see you next week.
peace,
g.

friends, globetrotting, life
ok guys, hajimemashite. who am I, you're asking...well, good question to begin. i am an italian boy, living in japan. why? to study and practice in a japanese company for a five months internship. today is a milestone in my life. i just finished my first month in natori and my life is turning around. i remember the day i arrived in japan. and i remember the first time i felt like home when coming back in sendai, from tokyo. two different people, really. i made my first step through the looking glass.
so now i've been living in the land of the rising sun for a month and i feel good. many people helped me, of course. an italian girl met in tokyo, japanese guys met at work, my best friend's words emailed every day. thanks to them, i lived many beautiful days, forgot fears, saw world with other eyes.
well, i live in an alternate world, there's nothing i had alredy tasted, nothing i had already seen. till...today. today a new life begins. that's why i opened this blog. to share my feelings with other people. and that's why i write in english...english is not a foreign language. nor is japanese...they are just other languages people use to meet people. to talk with them, to feel them. nobody will be a foreigner in my life.
from here i want to keep exploring the world, meeting people. with this new perspective. through the looking glass.
