Fish with a chorizo crust, smart sheep

, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Tonight I made fish. I do like fish. It tastes good and it's cheap!

Around this part of the world a steak from the supermarket costs $6 or $7. Four slices of whiting fish costs less than $2! Australia: An island surrounded by sea (that's where fish LIVE) and where does the supermarket fish come from? CHINA! :irked:

This recipe is taken from Dave and Si, the Hairy Bikers. They are sooo cool! They are definately the funniest 'TV chefs' I have ever seen.

What you need:
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Some white fish fillets (I used four)
  • About 4 slices of bread, chopped into pieces
  • 1 chorizo sausage, skinned and chopped
  • Some black pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • Some parsley
  • A bit of butter

What to do:
  • Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C
  • Place fish into a container/bowl, pour over lime juice, let it stand for 30 minutes
  • While you wait, make the chorizo mix: Place the bread and chorizo into a roasting tin (I used a cake tin) and put it into the oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, take it out and let it cool a bit.
  • Blend the bread/chorizo mix (or you can just use your hands like I did), add in the parsley, garlic, pepper and lime zest...blend more (or just mix it).
  • Place the fish, skin side down into a tin/roasting tin. I used a slice tin.
  • Put the bread/chorizo mix onto the fish, pressing it down. Make it thick.
  • Place a little bit of butter onto the fish
  • Place foil over the tin and bake for 20 minutes.

These are great kitchen utensils :)

Other stuff:
I'll pay for my trip next week :worried: I'm scared. I've never spent so much money before! I've never had money TO SPEND before!

This is what my sister's 'friend' calls 'tea/dinner' :left:

Sweet intersheep is so clever. I'm a very proud shepherd! Maybe he/she can help me with my assignment

Today, my friends asked me what I'd like to do once I finish uni: 'Umm..I don't know...I'd like to be a gypsy ...not one of those crazy ones though! I'd have a wagon and a monkey, without rabies, and we'd sing and dance' :eyes: Perhaps I was a gypsy in a previous life and I had a pet monkey without rabies! :D Maybe I was THE MONKEY without rabies! Can monkeys even get rabies? Does anyone here have a pet monkey?

How fun would it be to be a gypsy?! And to wear all those colourful crazy clothes and have pet monkeys without rabies and sing and dance all day long. Oh Enid Blyton. What would we do without you?

Also that recipe looks good!

And how exciting, paying for your trip!!!

It would be soooo much fun!!! The clothes are really cool. I have already chosen my gypsy wagon  http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k38/sugarfaery5/GypsyWagon.jpg Do you have a dream gypsy wagon? I think gypsys also have candles...and home made soup :D

The recipe is really tasty and easy to make. It smells good too.

That is a FANTASTIC gypsy wagon!!! I think I'd like one that's bright primary colours, I reckon blue with a red roof and yellow shutters. Maybe a green door or two. Though that one is VERY awesome. I love home made soup. I think they eat kippers too. But I think that that's just the Enid Blyton coming out in me :P Perhaps I can be an English gypsy. Actually maybe not, apparently they have bad reps and things. My Linguistics lecturer told me that.

Yeah I heard in the news or something that gypsys in England were living in a shopping centre carpark or something.

Enid Blyton wrote the magical faraway tree? Or that magical flying chair, yeah?

I would be a gypsy with a cool accent  Is Linguistics fun? I think it would be.

Your gypsy wagon sounds great! Yellow shutters!!! Yellow is definately a good colour. Afterall, bananas and pineapple are yellow and they are good fruits...well I think so anyway

Are kippers fish? I think they'd eat porridge too.

Haha yeah Enid Blyton wrote heaps. She wrote those and she wrote the Famous Five and the Five Find-Outers, and ah just heaps. And I remember I had a book of short stories, and there was one about a circus or something that came to town and all the children rushed out of school to watch the parade with the colourful wagons and animals!

I think kippers are fish. I really don't know.

And I don't like bananas! But I love pineapple. And the sun is yellow. And my favourite colour is yellow! But I don't think that having the whole wagon yellow would be a good idea, imagine how much the dirt would show!

galadriel 27. September 2008, 05:59

My favourite colour is yellow tooo! :O  And if the wagon was yellow, it'd look like you wanted to make the magic school bus but failed at getting your bus licence, so you had to settle for a wagon.

Speaking of yellow and circuses....there's a yellow and white circus out the front of Paradise community church. They don't have wagons though , they've got caravans. And I don't think there's an elephant either.

The Hairy Bikers are doing a new show. I think you'll like it.
