Gecko, Photos, Weather, Fun
...
I got mail on Monday. It wasn't from the bank, uni, an insurance company or even a random on the OC wanting to marry me (so they can take full advantage of my $120.48 superannuation money).
It was a parcel from my favourite German, Mr S

The good people at the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service knew what was in the parcel before I did.
"We know all your secrets...."So then I opened the parcel and it made a noise

WHAAA?! A sheep and a
magical nemo towel!

The noise was the bell (a long story) on the sheep. It's a get-well present for when I was sick the other week Awww

Well, on Sunday, I got sick AGAIN*, so it was good timing.
The sheep was looking quite happy, especially after such a long journey.
Welcome to Australia! We shared some Vegemite on toast. I think he/she/it liked it as he/she/it kept smiling
After putting the magical towel in water, it turned THIS BIG! That's so coooolllll!!!It's been raining in Adelaide this week. The lawns are
GREEN again

It's cold too, so I've started sleeping in my sleeping bag again. It's only rated to 10 degrees

This meant I was shivering most of the night, sniffling and wishing I had a hard-core -10 degrees sleeping bag!
Hmm..umbrella is not quite big enough. At least he/she/it wont get a wet left ear. Totally unrelated to sheep, feeling sick and umbrellas:
Perhaps it's this one from March 21, but grown up? *Why do I keep getting sick?!
Is it: I was at the beach, freezing cold at 1am on Friday? The dishwasher at work doesn't kill germs off the glasses? The germs from that guy who spat into my eye decided to attack? I hardly eat meat or dairy and I'm weak? Other?

Diagram, Work, Movies, Topic 4
...
While doing Finance homework, I had a profound thoughtHave you ever seen
Run Lola Run or Sliding Doors (I haven't seen it but I think the idea is similar)? Every choice you makes changes your future. Every choice you have ever made has gotten you to this point; reading my blog. If you walked to work instead of driving, if you cat puked on the floor at 3am, if your phone directory was delivered this morning, if YOU were ON the phone directory....your life would be slightly/completely different.
Possibly the best choice I made (well, my dad probably made it for me) was to learn German.
Here is a Diagram.docof how learning German affected my life. There is a lot more to put on here, but it wont fit on one page. As you can see, if I didn't learn German, I wouldn't have a blog

(don't cry, it's ok

)
I find it all quite interesting

Photos, Grape, Weather, Tests
...
Hello again,
I haven't been around much this week. I've been a good student (no, I haven't been drinking beer); I've been studying and trying to be smart. Has it worked? We'll find out next week in the tests!
Tuesday: Financial accounting. There is sooo much to remember! Everything has to apply with accounting standards which are in a big bible-ley looking book
Thursday: Finance. This should be easy; Aussie style multiple choice (Austrian style is apparently a lot more difficult)
Next next Thursday: Management Accounting. I've done the practice test and it was easy
And sometime next next week: Management essay. I can't write a good essay to save my life!
I really want (need!!!) to get good grades!!! Yes, so I'm going to need to study lots this weekend. Why are my friends coming over tonight then?

I do ALL the readings for uni. No one else does. Now my friends think I'm some smart nerd/geek (whatever one isn't the gaming addict). I want to be that smart nerd/geek!
As usual, I have been using my dodgy little camera to document my life:
My favourite Swede, Miss C and I went to the pub. This is the food. I drank free water
Swedish sounds so cool; almost musical.
I somehow got some free Easter eggs from CPA. My dad ate (demolished?) this one in less than 5 minutes.
I'm so Australian, even my food is green and gold
Oh! Guess what?! It RAINED the other day. Yes RAIN! That water that falls from the sky!!!

It's getting cold once again which isn't good for me. As you may recall, I have
Raynaud's disease. And yes, I am the one who wants (That should be rephrased with
'will' to motivate me more) to go to Germany for Christmas

WHAT!? 8.15 ALREADY!!!!

I guess I can do a few questions in 15 minutes?
PS:
These M&M Mini Easter eggs are really really really....good!

Money, Hunt, Reading, Pork
...
We get free orange juice at work and I didn't know!!!

So, while at work on Saturday night/Sunday morning, I was drinking lots of orange juice

It was sooo quiet at work, so I got paid for standing there, wiping the bar and talking to people

I was waiting at the bus interchange on my way to work and there was a big group of 15/16 yr old skin heads/no-hopers/bogans with the usual ‘freaky child predator 25+ year old guy’ thrown in for good luck. They thought they were pretty cool drinking alcohol, smoking and making a lot of noise at a BUS INTERCHANGE at 9pm. Is it just me or is that incredibly lame?

Once I earn enough money to actually pay tax, these are the types of idiots I’ll have to support. Yes, Australia is a great country; have no education or job and don’t want to get one? No problem! We’ll reward you with money

I used to read a lot of books; books which I actually wanted to read. Now I just read uni text books *cry* I do read the labels on what I (or the cat) eat/s though...
Woah! Look at how much stuff is in this cake!! The text is sooo small so they could fit everything on the label.
This is a label on a loaf of bread. Fish is an essential ingredient?
You wouldn't want your Maccaroni Cheese, WITHOUT crustacean
Umm the pain ingredient is pork...
This is some salt from a packet of 2 minute noodles. Isn't the international colour for 'chicken flavour', green? Or, does an orange chicken=BBQ chicken? And now for some other random stuff:
My sister is unfortunately STILL addicted to the OC

She borrowed this 3 disc set from the library and it can only be borrowed for 4 days at a time
Who has enough time to watch 3 DVDs, of 4 hours each, in just 3 days?Last Easter, I went on an Easter egg hunt with my dear friend Mr S. It was sooo much fun

On Saturday, my dad and I got onto the topic of an Easter egg hunt somehow, and he said that he'd hide some eggs (or carrots) for my sister and me to find

However, he didn't

(Oh and it looks like I missed out on the N+ Easter egg hunt too)….Instead, I 'celebrated' Easter by doing 2.5 hours of Financial Accounting yesterday afternoon; share capital, preference shares, retained earnings, company constitutions etc Fascinating stuff!!!

It takes a long time to do all the reading so I did another 4 hours today and finally finished it. Now I just have to do the questions…

Money, Photos, Paper, Ants
...
Well, it's now the end of week 3!! Only 3 weeks until mid-semester break

There are already lots of assignments to do

For 2 of my subjects (management accounting and financial accounting) we need to do the assignments in groups. In both of my groups, I'm the only Aussie. Why is this good? International students pay $16,000 or even more to study in Australia each year. They're NOT going to fail! With their brains and my errr ummm errr ....whatever, we'll be fine!

In Australia, you find more than spiders in your room. My sister found a little lizard in hers. She got scared although it was sooo TINY!

Food is getting more and more expensive here as it never rains and because petrol prices are increasing. I put on 2kg (I have no idea HOW! Maybe aliens abducted me and injected me with lard?), so maybe it's a good thing that food is expensive....
$8.72 for 4 chops...you're just paying for bone and fat. I bought a dress and it was only $7.50
Sitting through a 1.5 hour accounting lecture yesterday afternoon, my friends and I found ourselves getting bored....I'm always 1 week ahead (such a good student) so I was even more bored. I think we should be art students

Lauren wanted to drink $1 vodka (she even drew the straw!) and hang herself
Kim wanted to go to sleep
Did you know, if the contribution margin (sales revenue-variable costs) is negative, you can't make a profit?
That looks so like me
In Australia, chickens go 'cluck cluck'. What noise do they make where you live?
Awww a sweet little bunny!
How do I know the points on my scatter graph aren't ants? Here's a video for
'Since I left you' from the Avalanches. According to Mark Pytlik (cited on Wikipedia) the tune was '
assembled from approximately 3,500 vinyl samples' I want to dance but I don't know how

I went to an introductory salsa lesson a few weeks ago because it was free. It was lots of fun and I could actually do it which was amazing! However, to get past 'Lesson 1' you have to pay so I haven't been back *carefully guards her precious money* Ooo watch this:
Ballet VS HiphopNow I should go and (a)Do some homework or (b)climb a hill.

Iron, Hopeless, Washing machine, No idea
...
Who irons their clothes? I quite like wrinkly clothes and how they feel so comfortable. My mum insists on ironing EVERYTHING; PJs and teatowels included!

Ironed PJs feel like wearing a cardboard box. Not good. I've used an iron one in my life. It was at school, in home economics (the subject where you make stuff from material) and I couldn't even switch the iron on

At least I wont be taking after my mum anytime soon

I guess I'm 'domestically challenged' but I think that's a good thing; I have super baby soft hands (the only scar on them is from a yoghurt lid- I cut myself but was financially compensated) and no dirt and grime under my fingernails.
I've only used a vaccuum once and that was also at school too. It had really bad suction and it would have been quicker if I just picked up the rubbish!! In my 19 years, I've used a washing machine a total of....1 time. While I was in Sydney I had lots of stuff to wash but didn't know how to operate a washimg machine so I looked at it for a while and then asked for help
At work we have to scrub and mop the floors. On my first day I had to mop the floor. I hoped no one was looking because I had no idea how to mop a floor and if they realised, they would have laughed!!
Jonny, you can iron the sheep in the field all you like, but don't iron your toys!PS: Before you think I'm super-ditzy (stupid), I got 90% for my final highschool exams. Smart people know how to get other people to do stuff for them

Uni, Money, Photos, Store
...
Where to start??? In my little mind, there's quite a lot to blog about

I'll just write, see what happens and once I'm done, you can read and write stuff too if you want
Friday:Friday was once again BOILING HOT! *sigh* I went shopping and bought some $40 pants for just $15! The only bad thing is: no pockets

I went to the
ValueKing gallery opening with 3 friends of mine. I never even knew this place existed! They sell heaps of great stuff: clothes, cameras, those $20 magazines with the awesome photos...
The art was really cool
There were free drinks there too. I've only been to two gallery openings but I think I should go to more; free stuff!
Even with the free ice cold drinks, it was still hot. Hence my buddies and I befriended the AC
As soon as it was cooler outside, everyone sat in the lane. I noticed these people watching TV in one of the buildings...they were watching some Asian news program and seemed to be VERY happy; waving their arms around a LOT!After the gallery opening we joined the uni pub crawl. Do you know what a 'pub crawl' is? If you don't: it's when you get a big group of people together and you visit lots of pubs in a night. I think it promotes irresponsible consumption of alcohol

.... It was a lot of fun and the thing was: I organised it (the venues and drink specials) and people liked it
Saturday:I was at the Garden of Unearthly Delights (which has now finished) *group cry*
There are usually performers to watch
We thought they had smoke machines inside the garden, but it was just dust-the grass is dead
My parents went to see Arj Barker while I did nothing for 2 hours, waiting for my work shift to start.During the 2 hours, I joined some friends at a pub......The conversation with the security lady follows
-Do you want to see my ID
*Yeah! You look pretty young!
-Everyone says that...how old do I look today?
*Hmm I don't know but you look really young
-Hmm ok..what makes me look young?
*Hmmm...maybe it's because you're short
Am I short?!!? There are people shorter than me. I asked the friends I was with at the time (who were all guys- who are 'supposed' to be taller than girls) 'Hey, am I short?? Wait...all of you are around my height....You lot are short!' Then I didn't feel so bad

I'm SOOO tall that I can't join the Freak Show at the Garden of Unearthly Delights
At work I got a $5 tip from a customer

*happy* My pay slip tells me how much I've earnt since I started working: Not that much. The pay is good, but I only work 5 hours a week, so I can't expect much. With a uni degree however, some people are able to earn around as much as I've earnt in 4 MONTHS in ONE WEEK! I know someone who got a cheque for as much as I earn in ONE YEAR the other day! This is why going to uni is essential for me!
