I went to the doctor today to make sure I'm not going to die. She listened to my heart, poked my stomach...then I got to go next door for a blood test! Oh it was so much fun! I had only had a TINY bit of water to drink in the morning so it took a while for the woman to find some blood. In National Geographic there was an article on China. According to the writer, only 10% of used water is treated. The rest is put back into the water cycle :yuck:

Then I went to the city to get some passport photos (not for my passport, but for general use)....I look like the grumpiest/unhappiest person ever! Then I bought some stuff and saw Dr Karl Kruszelnicki outside the bookshop, signing books. He even had a security guard!

WILDLIFE
Yesterday I cooked tea and required some parsley...I went out the front to the pot where the parsley grows, only to find that it had died :frown: However, I heard something russling in the leaves....

My mum was doing some gardening and picked up a 'stick', only to realise that she was holding this lizard! hahahaha!!

My dad and I went walking yesterday evening and we saw an echidna....and, my dad had a camera

The spikes are really weird looking; they appear to be hollow in the middle.

Echidnas eat termites/ants

We always thought that kids had been demolishing the ants' nests. But it was the echidnas!

Blood test

, ,

I went to the doctors yesterday...to see why I'm always so cold. Aparantly I have Raynauds disease or something, which just means that I am sensitive to the cold and my arteries or veins or capillaries don't pump enough blood to my hands or feet.

I didn't really have to go to the doctors, because I had self diagnosed myself using Google! So that was that, and the doctor was going to let me go home. However, I told him how Google told me that there might be something wrong with my thyroid gland. He said 'Hmm yes that could have something to do with it' so I then had a blood test. Google knows more than the doctors!

Down the corridoor, to the blood place I walked. I told the nurse, Helen, how I nearly fainted last time I had one, so I was advised to lay down.

She stuck a needle into my left arm, but couldn't get any blood out of it. 'Hmm...no...I can't get any blood out of here...well I'll stop because I don't want to dig around in there' Ewwwww :yuck:

So, Helen then got a thinner needle and put it in another spot in my left arm, but my veins must be very weak and little, so she still couldn't get any blood out of them.

It didn't hurt at all, but I could feel the pressue and that was really horrible! I wanted to cry-but I didn't

So then she tried my right arm, and was finally able to get some blood out of it. This time it hurt pretty bad, but I didn't cry.

I don't know any people who like needles...and that's probably a good thing because I think there would have to be something VERY wrong if you did! Anyway, I was thinking how come people will pierce their ears and not make a big deal of it, yet go on and on about getting an injection and blood test. I used to have pierced ears because I wanted earings when I was little. However I took them out about 3 years ago because I didn't see the point and I didn't like the idea that there were metal rings though some holes in my ears! Think twice before you pierce your ears! When you take them out it takes agggeeesss for the holes to go away and there are these little balls that you can feel under the skin, where the holes 'used' to be.

Back to the blood test...Do you know what the worse part was? Taking the tape off my arm because it got stuck to the hairs on my arm!
