Week 10 in photos

After 4 hours,I think I've finished my law assignment *jump* :D So now I can blog  I'm doing a subject where we look at aspects of law affecting companies, under the wonderful Corporations Act 2001. For the exam, I have to print out the required sections of the act. One guy from my tutorial printed it out and it cost him $10 in print money!!

On Saturday night I commented on one girl's head band 'Hey, that's a nice headband!' and then she gave it to me

I'm still walking up the hill (you can see it in the distance here). I like the gates they have at this 'park': one for the human and a litle one for the dog

Some of the orchids are still flowering too. They get hardly any water here, the soil doesn't have any nutrients but they seem to grow somehow. If you tried to grow them in your garden at home, you'd fail miserably.

This is what the Adelaide traffic control centre looks like. Lots of screens

Fritz, the crazy German guy who you've never heard of before is ALREADY exporting Christmas Stollen to Australia! Actually, the Adelaide City council seems a bit crazy too; they've already put up Christmas decorations in the city centre (American/Canadian translation: downtown)!

Last night I cooked a recipe from 'Jamies Ministry of Food'; chicken with prosciutto. It tasted really good, except for the fact that the ham was really salty! Next time: unsalty ham.

And that concludes today's blog post. Now I've got to finish my accounting theory assignment.....

Ahh I nearly forgot! It's time for a German lesson :D
  • Ich esse gern Stollen=I like to eat stollen
  • ...wenn es Ihnen gerade passt=When it suits you. So you can say....'Sie koennen essen wenn es Ihnen gerade passt'??? (German people, please correct me if I am wrong  ) And the impolite is 'Du kannst essen wenn es DIR gerade passt.????
  • Schutzengel= guardian angel So, 'Fahre nie schneller als dein Schutzengel fliegen kann'...which means 'Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly'

Always read the label

We get free orange juice at work and I didn't know!!! :eyes: :D So, while at work on Saturday night/Sunday morning, I was drinking lots of orange juice  It was sooo quiet at work, so I got paid for standing there, wiping the bar and talking to people

I was waiting at the bus interchange on my way to work and there was a big group of 15/16 yr old skin heads/no-hopers/bogans with the usual ‘freaky child predator 25+ year old guy’ thrown in for good luck. They thought they were pretty cool drinking alcohol, smoking and making a lot of noise at a BUS INTERCHANGE at 9pm. Is it just me or is that incredibly lame? :right: Once I earn enough money to actually pay tax, these are the types of idiots I’ll have to support. Yes, Australia is a great country; have no education or job and don’t want to get one? No problem! We’ll reward you with money :hat:

I used to read a lot of books; books which I actually wanted to read. Now I just read uni text books *cry* I do read the labels on what I (or the cat) eat/s though...

Woah! Look at how much stuff is in this cake!! The text is sooo small so they could fit everything on the label.

This is a label on a loaf of bread. Fish is an essential ingredient?

You wouldn't want your Maccaroni Cheese, WITHOUT crustacean

Umm the pain ingredient is pork...

This is some salt from a packet of 2 minute noodles. Isn't the international colour for 'chicken flavour', green? Or, does an orange chicken=BBQ chicken?

And now for some other random stuff:

My sister is unfortunately STILL addicted to the OC :right: She borrowed this 3 disc set from the library and it can only be borrowed for 4 days at a time

Who has enough time to watch 3 DVDs, of 4 hours each, in just 3 days?

Last Easter, I went on an Easter egg hunt with my dear friend Mr S. It was sooo much fun :D On Saturday, my dad and I got onto the topic of an Easter egg hunt somehow, and he said that he'd hide some eggs (or carrots) for my sister and me to find  However, he didn't :worried: (Oh and it looks like I missed out on the N+ Easter egg hunt too)….Instead, I 'celebrated' Easter by doing 2.5 hours of Financial Accounting yesterday afternoon; share capital, preference shares, retained earnings, company constitutions etc Fascinating stuff!!! :ko: It takes a long time to do all the reading so I did another 4 hours today and finally finished it. Now I just have to do the questions…

Really yummie spicy chicken

, , ,

This spicy BBQ chicken is sooooo nice!!

My sister's allergic to chicken. But now that she's in Germany I can cook it as much as I want

INGREDIENTS:

1kg chicken thigh fillets
1/2 cup coconut milk

Paste
4 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon of cracked black peppercorns (smash whole ones with a spoon)
2 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoon tumeric
2 teaspoon paprika (sweet or hot, or both)
1 tablespoon fresh coriander root (it tastes fine without it)
1 teaspoon curry powder
2 fresh red chilli (if you don't want to drive to the shop to buy 1 chilli, don't use one  )
1 tablespoon peanut oil

Sweet Vinegar Sauce:
1 fresh red chilli
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar

Ok, so what do I do?
Cut up the chicken thighs in half, or if you want it too cook quicker, cut them up into smaller pieces.

Mix up all the paste ingredients in a bowl and mix it in with the chicken. Put it in the fridge for a few hours.

After a few hours, grill or BBQ the chicken and baste it with coconut milk.

At the same time you can make the sauce: Grind the chilli and garlic to a paste. Combine the vinegar and sugar in a pan and stir it over heat, until the sugar dissolves. Bring it to the boil and simmer it uncovered, without stirring, until the syrup begins to colour. Remove it from the heat and stir in the chili and garlic. Then pour it over the cooked chicken. Or, if you're lazy, just use already made sweet chilli sauce
