Thursday:
Miss Kimbers and her favourite German finished the Nussecke by dipping the corners into melted chocolate. They then looked for a cool place, where they could store the biscuits, so that the chocolate wouldn't melt.

Miss Kimbers cooled the biscuits on the window sill. She thought that only existed in fairy tales!

When you require a tray, but don't have one, simply use a cardboard box! :D

Mr S and Miss Kimbers ate lunch in a cafeteria on the 10th floor of a building

That evening, the two travelled some kms away, to...BUILD A HOUSE!

Friday:
Miss Kimbers installed installation into the walls of the house. Her Favourite German taught her how to use a cordless drill

Miss Kimbers is unfortunately VERY weak and cannot carry heavy things...Therefore, she does not think she should become a builder anytime soon. However, she thought it was fun.

Saturday:
Mr S and Miss Kimbers travelled back to the apartment of Miss Kimbers. That evening, they went to the cinema and watched Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood. It was a good movie. Then they went to a bar and drank KiBa and Martini. There were free matches in the bar.

*Miss Kimbers takes a box of matches*
Mr S: Why do you need matches?
Miss Kimbers: Because one day, I might decide to buy a candle, and then I'll need matches....

The topic of the walk home: Why do people go out to bars and nightclubs and, being social. (This could be a future blog post topic!)

Sunday:
Mr S and Miss Kimbers ate a hearty German style breakfast...and there was VEGEMITE, Australia's favourite bread spread

Mmmmmm VEGEMITE

Normal salt, herb salt...black pepper or mixed pepper? AHH So much CHOICE!

*SMILE*

My favourite German is also known as 'Mr S'....This story needs some explaining, using Skype history

LAST WEEK: Phone
Miss Kimbers: So, are you going to the party in Mainz....and visiting me...?
Mr S: No, I have to work...and so it' not worth going to the party, then to Mannheim on Saturday and then leaving on Sunday.
Miss Kimbers: That's true *is sad because she was looking forward to having a visitor*

FRIDAY NIGHT: Skype
[2/27/2009 11:05:21 PM] Mr S says: whats your plan for tomorrow?
[2/27/2009 11:06:04 PM] Miss Kimbers says: Jacqueline and I are going to Kaiserslatern because it is free...and we don't know what is there...*insert mysterious music* And what's your plan?
[2/27/2009 11:09:40 PM] Mr S says: I'm not sure.. probably I'm visiting a girl - but it's not sure yet...
[2/27/2009 11:11:48 PM] Miss Kimbers says: Ah cool. Does she live in Duesseldorf?
[2/27/2009 11:12:07 PM] Mr S says: nope.. some km away.
[2/27/2009 11:12:29 PM] Mr S says: I'm not sure if I can manage to visit her.... and she said she might go somewhere else... this might be a problem...
*Miss Kimbers thinks: hmmm I'm a girl who doesn't live in Dueseldorf...and I am going to Kaiserslautern tomorrow....but Mr S said that it was too hard and not worth travelling so far*
[2/27/2009 11:13:52 PM] Miss Kimbers says: Then it could be a problem, yes
[2/27/2009 11:15:20 PM] Mr S says: yep... it could... but if she tells me when she'll be back tomorrow... maybe I'll visit her later. so when are you going tomorrow to kaiserslautern?

SATURDAY MORNING: Skype
*after some conversation...*
[2/28/2009 9:52:18 AM] Mr S says: so how long do you plan to stay in kaiserslautern?
[2/28/2009 9:55:20 AM] Miss Kimbers says: Probably a few hours...we have no idea what we'll do there...later im going to a party. And are you still visiting your friend?
[2/28/2009 10:04:00 AM] Mr S says: yep... i guess so. but she lives so far outside... so it's hard to get a good conection.
[2/28/2009 10:05:29 AM] Miss Kimbers says: Where does she live?
[2/28/2009 10:07:18 AM] Mr S says: near from solingen. I'm still finding the best way to visit the girl. and when do you have to go?
*Miss Kimbers thinks: How hard can it be to go to somewhere near Solingen...? And Mr S isn't visiting me, becuase I don't live near Solingen :frown:*
[2/28/2009 10:48:49 AM] Miss Kimbers says: in 50 minutes or so
[2/28/2009 10:51:01 AM] Mr S says: are you going to the party tonight?
[2/28/2009 10:52:34 AM] Miss Kimbers says: I think I am going
*Miss Kimbers thinks: Why is Mr S so interested in what I am doing...Where I am going, how long it takes, when I will be back, what I will be doing after...?*

*Miss Kimbers is on the train from Kaiserslautern back to Mannheim and receives a message from Mr S*

When will you be back in Mannheim? I have to talk to you

*Miss Kimbers thinks that is a weird message...she has a phone...so it can't be THAT urgent....Miss Kimbers replies*

In about 40 minutes, I'll be at the main station...do you need to ring me at home? Then I can go straight there

*Miss Kimbers receives no reply....and thinks that is weird...*

*The train stops in Mannheim and Miss Kimbers thinks she sees a guy who looks like Mr S out the train window, waiting on the platform, right outside her carriage!...Why would Mr S be there though...he said it wasn't worth travelling all that way for such a short time...and was going to visit a girl in some weird village near Solingen. She thinks: Nope, it isn't Mr S*

*Miss Kimbers walks out of the train....
....and gets a hug....
....from....
....MR S!!!*

HOW SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
*smile*

Miss Kimbers received a pretty rose at the station *smile*....and a packet of icing sugar too!

Miss Kimbers' favourite German cooked brussel sprouts for dinner

Miss Kimbers was happy to show Mr S his two photos hanging in her room  Mr S takes nice photos!

Then the two walked to a WG (Wohngemeinschaft (SPELLING?) err English= Shared house) party of some German people.

On the way to the party, they crossed the Neckar River.

A boat on the Neckar

The people in the WG (English=shared house) like to read magazines in the bathroom!

Miss Kimbers finds it pretty difficult to talk to Germans in social situations where there are many people. However, she is quite proud of her effort at the party. She spoke with quite a few people and mostly in German

Mr S and Miss Kimbers left the party at 00:30 or something and walked back over the bridge...then they found themselves in the kitchen making KALTER HUND, the yummiest cake in the world! This is why Mr S gave Miss Kimbers a box of icing sugar; he bought all the ingredients for the cake with him!

On Sunday morning, Mr S and Miss Kimbers drank coffee and ate Kalter Hund

Then, they ate some bread with VERY limited toppings (Miss Kimbers doesn't have much food, because she doesn't eat much)...and then some more cake...and then they went for a walk on the river....and then they came back to the flat and ate MORE CAKE :D

Mr S eating some Kalter Hund

As usual, the clocked ticked too fast :frown: and it was time for Mr S to get his Mitfahrgelegenheit. On the way to the station, they ate mushroom and tomato pizza.

Miss Kimbers had such a nice time with Mr S and thinks she is lucky to know such a wonderful person *smile*

Kaiserslautern

Last day of February, Miss J and I went to Kaiserslautern. Neither of us had any plans, so we decided to go there because it was free with our 'Semesterticket'.

Some food, a toothbrush, some tickets and some clothes on a rack.

Two new friends and I went to a government office thing and ate a meal for 1.50 Euro! Soup +semolina dessert/jelly+ salad + choice of meat with dumplings or vegetable bake = VERY good price! First you have to buy a 'ticket' from the special ticket vending machine.

Living the high life; a new toothbrush! I thought ahead and packed one when I left Australia...didn't need to buy one here. Clever, huh?

Each week the wonderful, exciting event of 'DRYING THE CLOTHES' takes place.

It can't be a blog post without food! I like food

This is a cake form a Turkish shop. It tastes really good. I guess I need to taste the other flavours

This is the tapas from last night. My housemate, her boyfriend and her sister, two friends of her sister and I went to eat tapas. It was tasty

Tonight I was at a Couch Surfing meeting in Heidelberg, in a small chocolate cafe, Chocolaterie YilliY. However, I drank tea instead of hot chocolate, because they have no soy milk! :worried:

But now, I'm pretty sure it's time for me to go to bbbbbeeeeeeddddddddd. I like my bed here. It's big

Last night I had a farewell party in a park in the city. I wasn't going to have a farewell, but I thought I should to prove that I can organise soemthing and that I'm not lazy

We packed an esky; it has wheels!!!

The weather didn't look too good as we drove there, but then the sun started shining and luckily, it didn't rain at the party

Standing around the BBQ

My sister knows how to cut up mangoes, so she did a demonstration

There you go

The wheeled esky also doubles up as a seat

Yay I'm not the only one with an old phone!

That's all for now

Accountants

, , , ...

I'm studying Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in accounting is no one knew... I was looking on the uni's website and thought it would be cool to do 'Masters of International Business' Ooo sounds clever. It only takes 1 yr!

"Accounts are NOT bean counters! We're DECISION MAKERS! We make MILLION DOLLAR decisions EVERY DAY! Do you want to go to work and say 'I'm going to make a million dollar decision today?' YES YOU DO!! You don't want to go to work, sit at a desk and ask yourself 'Is this a liability or an asset?' That's for the person at the RECEPTION DESK!"

Accounting tutor

"I'm sure Mannheim will accept your application. If not, tell me...we're going to beat them up, when we're back in germany "

German guy

"I'm an international student. If I overstay my visa, the government will throw me out of the country"

Some English sounding guy in my class

It was great meeting you... I'll always remember you as the girl that bought me my first drink

One of my Canadian friends

Lecturer: Back in my day, we never had computers...we didn't have Skype or the internet

Me: Look at that picture on the slide. Back in his day, he never had an internet friend or an internet stalker :worried: Poor guy

I just realised that I have less than 2 months of 'teenager-hood' left.....
