One reason why I like Germany: the weather is nice and 'cool', which is not the case in Adelaide:

Adelaide is even featured in a Spiegel video!.

Free hot drinks and a blocked German sink

, , , ...

On Thursdays there is a Christian group at the bus stop. They give people free hot drinks. Normally, I don't get one because I think they'll try to sell their religion to me. However, today, I was there with Miss K and we decided to get a hot drink....It's harder to sell religion to 2 people than 1 person.

Christian man: What can I get you?
Me: I'll have a hot water.
Christian man: A cold water?
Me: No, a hot water....Yes, I'm one of these weird people who drink hot water
Christian man: A hot water...yes I know some people do drink it but...*pours me a hot water* I'll put some cold water in it so you don't burn yourself
Me: Ok
Christian man: You know, it's not good for you. Hot and cold is ok but not hot
Me: It's bad for me? I like it. Oh well, got to die from something! :D

I wonder, if at that moment, he had the sudden urge to convert me to Christianity, so that when I die from overdosing on hot water, I'll go to Heaven...?

How can hot water be bad for you? That makes EVERY hot drink BAD for you!

Anyway, their hot water tasted like plastic so I put it into the bin! :frown:

Friday and Saturday

, , , ...

Where to start??? In my little mind, there's quite a lot to blog about  I'll just write, see what happens and once I'm done, you can read and write stuff too if you want

Friday:
Friday was once again BOILING HOT! *sigh* I went shopping and bought some $40 pants for just $15! The only bad thing is: no pockets

I went to the ValueKing gallery opening with 3 friends of mine. I never even knew this place existed! They sell heaps of great stuff: clothes, cameras, those $20 magazines with the awesome photos...

The art was really cool :D There were free drinks there too. I've only been to two gallery openings but I think I should go to more; free stuff!

Even with the free ice cold drinks, it was still hot. Hence my buddies and I befriended the AC

As soon as it was cooler outside, everyone sat in the lane. I noticed these people watching TV in one of the buildings...they were watching some Asian news program and seemed to be VERY happy; waving their arms around a LOT!

After the gallery opening we joined the uni pub crawl. Do you know what a 'pub crawl' is? If you don't: it's when you get a big group of people together and you visit lots of pubs in a night. I think it promotes irresponsible consumption of alcohol :drunk: .... It was a lot of fun and the thing was: I organised it (the venues and drink specials) and people liked it :D :hat:

Saturday:
I was at the Garden of Unearthly Delights (which has now finished) *group cry*

There are usually performers to watch  We thought they had smoke machines inside the garden, but it was just dust-the grass is dead

My parents went to see Arj Barker while I did nothing for 2 hours, waiting for my work shift to start.

During the 2 hours, I joined some friends at a pub......The conversation with the security lady follows

-Do you want to see my ID
*Yeah! You look pretty young!
-Everyone says that...how old do I look today?
*Hmm I don't know but you look really young
-Hmm ok..what makes me look young?
*Hmmm...maybe it's because you're short

:irked:
Am I short?!!? There are people shorter than me. I asked the friends I was with at the time (who were all guys- who are 'supposed' to be taller than girls) 'Hey, am I short?? Wait...all of you are around my height....You lot are short!' Then I didn't feel so bad  P:

I'm SOOO tall that I can't join the Freak Show at the Garden of Unearthly Delights P:

At work I got a $5 tip from a customer :D *happy* My pay slip tells me how much I've earnt since I started working: Not that much. The pay is good, but I only work 5 hours a week, so I can't expect much. With a uni degree however, some people are able to earn around as much as I've earnt in 4 MONTHS in ONE WEEK! I know someone who got a cheque for as much as I earn in ONE YEAR the other day! This is why going to uni is essential for me!

Skinny jeans in a heatwave

, , , ...

It's so hot here!!!! Take a look at the forecast, brought to you by the wonderful people at the Bureau of Meterology

Wednesday isn't on here, but it will be 38...I should move to Mt Barker, it'll only be 37! Lucky Mt Barkerins! P: Is this a reason to go to church? Isn't hell a LOT hotter than 39? :left:

I decided to wear skinny jeans and a shirt today, during the 'hottest march ever' It wasn't that bad when I was inside the library at uni. However, I had to catch a bus home :irked:

There are two types of buses; new and old. The new ones have great air-conditioning  Life is surprising; You never know what kind of bus you'll get. Of course, I knew I'd get an old one with a broken air conditioner. I was right! :irked: I rolled up my jeans, but they're skinny jeans so they don't roll up past a certain point. Naturally, this didn't help cool me down. After 40 minutes I arrived at my stop... my jeans were wet and stuck to my legs, my shirt was wet and I was REALLY angry!

Earlier in the day I was at the traffic lights and there were two foreign (well, they weren't ugly and they weren't speaking English P:) guys in front of me. They had some unfashionably pink skin. It's not only foreign people who underestimate just how harmful the sun is here. Every year, around 400000 Australians are diagnosed with skin cancer and we're told about the dangers nearly each day! Take a look at this video. It's about a girl who got skin cancer from being in the sun too much and from going to solariums.

So, who still wants to come to Australia (or Adelaide) for a Summer holiday? :D

Stay tuned! Next time: How to make your blog worth more, fires in bins and gorillas in convertibles .

Summer is here!

Last week, I was complaining it was too cold. I wont be complaining about the cold anymore:

One of the worst things is being on the bus when it's above 35C. You can't sit back against the seat because your back gets so hot and you can feel the sweat running down it. You try to open the window, but it's stuck. Then you move seats (the only free seats are on the sunny side of the bus) and open the window. The wind is hot, your hair blows in your eyes and gets stuck to your sweaty face... Some big sweaty guy (who doesn't know deoderant has been invented) sits beside or infront of you... :yuck:
