Park

, , , ...

On Sunday I went to the park 'Planten un Blomen' where I sat in the sun and read a book. Unfortunately I sat in a wet patch on the grass (either caused by someone spilling a drink there or a dog...hmmm...) The park is a short walk from S-Bahnhof Dammtor (there was a Beatles welcome here in the 60s and fans were aparantly sprayed with water because they were too crazy) or U-Bahnhof Stephanzplatz.

The Asian garden

The University of Hamburg has a 'botanical garden' in the park. I'm not sure if there is a garden or if the hot house IS the botanical garden. Anyway, I went into the hot house. It is FREE but HOT.

An Australian tree! It was so small and scrawny.

And now it's time for a new segment....
Random photo from the PAST

This is certainly random. I THINK this is a picture of some parts of a burnt cake in the bin...but since I am not sure...I will have to select another random photo.

Extreme ironing?

, , , ...

My friend Tacel (who I have known for 6 years and with whom I have never had a fight) visited me last night. She brought some peaches with her. While eating the peeled peaches, we came up with some new dance moves: 'Subway sauce', 'stockings', 'ahhh im pregnant' and 'landing a plane ballet'. Next year, we'll audition for So You Think You Can Dance Australia p:

I had to go into my room to get my shoes, and then I thought ‘Lets dress up!!!’ I have lots of clothes I never wear, which people have given me over the years. Tracel wore a green cowboy hat, fairy wings, a yellow shirt and a black jacket. I wore a green skirt, a pink shirt, an arab scarf and an asian hat. Then we saw the ironing board…’Hey, we can take that with us…it can be a surfboard!’…. and decided to take it with us :/ Yes, we can go this crazy without drugs, you’re surprised, aren’t you?

While walking to the main road (we wanted people to see us) the ironing board somehow became upright…we couldn’t figure out how to put it back down. I’ve never used an ironing board in my life… Even if I lived on my own, I wouldn’t iron my clothes. I know people who iron their clothes with hot water in a saucepan! We took this oppostunity to pretend the ironing board was a surfboard.

Eventually, we figured out how to put the ironing board down. Then we walked along the main road, dancing, humming and waving  We stopped at a bus stop and put up the ironing board and pretended to iron stuff. We’re not sure if anyone saw us, but we want to do it again.

Mr Prime Minister

, ,

My sister once made a paper mache head of John Howard (the Prime Minister of Australia).

Yesterday, her friend (also my friend), Kara, visited and found it and decided that she wanted to BE John Howard.

So, yesterday, 'John Howard' was spotted around North East Adelaide....

"'John' tests out new 'tennis court' fencing..., encourages children to 'get up and active' and takes a walk through a forest looking at what GLOBAL WARMING/CLIMATE CHANGE has done"

"'John' promotes 'school pride', the use of bore water and abspestos warning signs in schools"
