Rabindranath Tagore : "L'offrande lyrique"

,

----------------------------------------------
Translations made by the author, Rabindranath Tagore, from the original Bengali:
"Thou hast made me endless, such is thy pleasure. This frail vessel thou emptiest again and again, and fillest it ever with fresh life.

This little flute of a reed thou hast carried over hills and dales,
and hast breathed through it melodies eternally new.

At the immortal touch of thy hands my little heart loses its limits in joy and gives birth to utterance ineffable.

Thy infinite gifts come to me only on these very small hands of mine.
Ages pass, and still thou pourest, and still there is room to fill.

Dear 知慧, I don't know why but I suddenly had that day the idea to make a post about Tagore, without any comment, with only his words and his incredible face and look.
I first discovered Tagore by reading "Histoires de fantômes indiens", a very very good book, if you can find it in French it will give you good opportunities to read excellent french prose (the result of the translation in French is great).

About 徐志摩, I discovered him on Aprilsnow's blog. She notably added in the comments another great photo about that visit of Tagore in China. I really like the two poems by 徐志摩 Aprilsnow proposed on her blog, but for the moment I failed to find a book in France or Belgium about him. Keep searching.
