Random babblings from an underproductive mind.

Was I really in Copenhagen yesterday?

, ,

It seems unreal somehow.

I'm uploading about fifty of the seven hundred odd photographs that I took, it's all a bit random, I'll add text during the week. I'm also going to do sections on the zoo and Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek (thanks, Zaphira, for correcting me on the founder's name  ), just because they were so damn cool. The zoo is small, but very well done.

I'm up at 4.55 A.M. as usual, so goodnight!

You're welcome.

About the Zoo - do you really think it's small?? Copenhagen Zoo covers 11 hectare... How big a zoo are you used to? :left:

I'm used to Dublin Zoo http://www.dublinzoo.ie/inside.asp?sectionId=1 which is, according to wikipedia, 12 hectares. I think that the two zoos are about on a par. But it felt small when I went around it! Very impressive though.

I love my Zoo.
I was just surprised that you found it small - perhaps you didn't discover all of it?! P:

Gavin Sheedy 6. July 2009, 08:34

lol... that occured to me! I went looking for more! But I don't think so. The photographs that were worth posting are up now, so you perhaps can tell me p: In fairness, it's about as big as Dublin zoo, I guess I was just expecting... bigger. It is a great zoo.

Gavin, you give new meaning to the term 'SNAP HAPPY!'

Gavin Sheedy 9. July 2009, 19:13

lol... but I'm not altogether happy with my new camera, it doesn't have a viewfinder and I miss it.

ShallowMuse 9. July 2009, 19:17

YOU are the viewfinder!
BE the viewfinder!
*says in artsy voice while waving arms around incoherently*

Gavin Sheedy 9. July 2009, 19:22

 So mote it be. Weren't we going to get a photographic tour of your home town? :D

ShallowMuse 9. July 2009, 21:13

I've decided i'm going to do that in the summer, when its pretty! Since we dont have the luxury of snow hiding all the desolation and despair of winter..everything is ugly!

Gavin Sheedy 10. July 2009, 03:58

Winter has it's own harsh beauty. Everything takes on a hyperreal quality in the cold, especially after rain. Not that helps a camera much

I shall be my viewfinder today! :D

Been lots about S.A. on the radio this week.

ShallowMuse 10. July 2009, 05:34

Really? What is being said? Cos nothing huge is happening that i know of..

Gavin Sheedy 10. July 2009, 10:23

Well, rather a lot. It's Africa week on P1. They've talking to people who live there, talking about the building strike... I read on teletext that an insane proportion of men, across the social spectrum, have raped. 20-25% or something. But it must be nice there, the Swedes who live there don't want to move back, though they miss routinely walking in nature.

ShallowMuse 10. July 2009, 12:35

ah ya if thats one thing South Africans do and do well, its striking.. the doctors, the mine workers, teachers, construction workers...meh.
and thats a very scary statistic

Gavin Sheedy 10. July 2009, 14:20

No kidding. The article went on to say that gang rapes were popular, and considered a bonding experience. But it sounds completely unbelievable.

ShallowMuse 10. July 2009, 14:24

yea or part of induction into gangs ect.. yup yup it happens, so is the sick and twisted world we live in!
