Hi, I am an aspiring Science Fiction writer. I love reading most things out of the ordinary and have written and published online. I’m in no way pretending that gives me the right to give advice here but I’m sure there are LOTS of people out there who have written a short story, working on a book or thinking of writing that keep hear, mostly in their own head, that what they are doing is a waste of time. Bad Idea! God knows there is allot of “advice” about how you shouldn’t waste your time submitting stories online (how else do we know were at least getting somewhere) OR you have a 1 in 1000 chance of getting that manuscript published or there aint no money in it. Say what? That’s the biggest turn of short of a bucket of water on you known what.
If you want to write WRITE and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise! Stephen King said "Don’t be a timid writer" best God dam advice I could give here. Enjoy it, reval in it and let the Muse know you mean business.
Read allot, get an idea, write it down, subit it to an online mag see links, then….like I want to do, submit to a paper mag…after that who knows.
I wipe the sweat from my brow and say.
Let’s talk, let’s beat about the bush, let’s help each other.
