Muons and You
Not Spam but Science. How we can use our PC to do our regular stuff and at the same time support science. This is a program that involves a lot of calculations so these scientists have a distributed program.
Meaning you can set it start when you start your PC and it tells windows only to run it when nothing else important is happening on the PC - meaning it takes only the idle CPU cycles. As soon as you do something intensive like save a file or open a intensive page with a lot of graphics and animation or other work that involves CPU this program backs off, letting you use your computer when you need to and then automatically coming back when your done.
There is a setting to throttle the maximum CPU that it will use at any time - even when CPU idle - good for laptops.
When another program or programs are using the CPU it uses 0% of the CPU.
