Baby Alonso Throws A Paddy
Saturday, 4. August 2007, 14:59:58
McLaren Driver and current world champion Fernando Alonso's fragile ego reached new heights of shame today in Budapest as he very obviously handicapped his team mate Lewis Hamilton by delaying his departure from the pits in order that he was unable to complete his final qualifying lap. Fernando Alonso the spoilt brat of motor racing proved once more, as he has done time and time again this season, that he is unable to deal with a competitive opponent on a mature and even footed level.
Each new challenge presents Alonso with the opportunity to show his talent on the race track but unfortunately he proved, yet again, that when the going gets tough he simply doesn't have what it takes to beat Lewis Hamilton on track but instead has to resort to an obvious display of insecure selfishness that begs the question, 'Should Mclaren install a driver's creche?'
If you can't compete within the rules, you are a cheat. If you can't succeed on a level playing field it's an admission of failure.
Fernando Alonso is that cheating failure.
Fernando is not an actual baby of course.
Here's our handy comparison to help you out.

Sorry to you, Gt. Britain!
Ham is not a champ, is a... chimp!
Is arrogant and has no years of work in his back. A good car only..
It's a pitty such a car in it's hands.

Ha ha, nice try but personal opinion won't trump the facts.

As much as I dislike Hamilton (and I'm a Brit!), Alonso has shown his true class and thrown out all the toys from his pram!
The Alonso fans (mainly Spanish funnily enough) blame another driver for the failure of their main man winning the title... The FACTS speak for themselves... Who put it in the wall in Japan??? Hmmm let me think. Who got beat by 6 TENTHS of a second in China....

What exactly does your headline mean?

You mean, 'Baby Alonso Throws A Paddy'?
Essentially it means, in this case, to have a hissy fit, a tantrum, and other such terms. One would use it to demonstrate someone is making too much of a fuss about something. Getting worked-up over nothing.
One of the benefits of using this term is that the person in question is apt to feel even more slighted and begins behaving like a big girls blouse thereby helping to prove your point. It's a little underhand and childish perhaps but one must necessarily, and sometimes regretfully, be tactical in life.
