Stuck in Minnesota

Rising Gas Costs

, ,

$2.99 a gallon 2 days ago, then $2.85 now $2.90.
To some this is no biggie but I blow through way too much gas. A large majority of friends, social events and my girlfriend all live about 30 minutes away. At $40+ a fill up I am feeling the price hike. My ride to work is only 15 minutes, should I just become a hermit? Go to work, come home and do nothing all night. Stay inside enjoying the internet and tv all weekend? That doesn't seem like the best solution. Next best thing is to move.

I have been looking at townhouses in new development areas where a majority of my friends live. I have been a renter for the 7 or 8 years I have lived on my own, maybe it is about time to make that leap. Now would be the time too, summer is upon us, the housing industry is a buyers market, especially in new development areas, I can't lose. Well I can actually, time to do the math and see if the increase in housing cost will offset the gas price increase? This whole responsible decisions thing is a pain.

Until Next Time!

So here I am

That's nothing. Gas prices are around $3.25 around here (Aurora, Illinois) for regular unleaded. I talked to someone who's brother is a retired oil company employee and he said that gas prices (nationally) should be about $1.79 on average.
