Happy Days

Here we have this amazing forest, which is home to the Red Squirrel amongst the many many other wildlife living here too.
A tranquility of endless woodland where you're very likely to find a squrrel or hare or polecat or pheasant pop out onto the path where you happen to be strolling through the forest.
Yet to actually be there in the first place, there's been hundreds of trees felled and endless lodges built, all fully furnished, every appliance you could possibly need, gas and electricity, hence my thinking..."It kinda contradicts itself." BUT...
What a place to really get back to nature and spend time out from the hustle and bustle of city life!!

Once you've unpacked the car at your lodge, you take it to a main car park and you don't see your car again until you are leaving the site. Soooo...I guess pollution is minimised in that respect.
hmmmm...I've never seen so many bicycles in one place at our bike department, yet, you don't really see too many around site after the initial booking in. Instead, families are out and about, walking with their children, taking in the environment in which they are living. The children are doing activities outdoors, the sounds of laughter throughout the site speaks for itself.

Right in the middle of the forest though...A huge complex comes to light, cleverly designed, a beautiful lake...
then, everything kinda hidden under the sub-tropical style venue...
Here you can shop, eat, indoor activities, guest services, medical centre...you want something, it's all here at your service...This is where I struggle a little with the whole 'getting back to nature' idea. If it was down to me...Out with the 'mod-cons', and in with the 'basics' and maybe then I would see something more...I guess modern day living has become so 'easy and expectant' that in general we can't actually, or think we can't actually cope without all the luxuries we've become accustomed to in life.
I love my job, I love the fact that I'm out of town and I'm surrounded by nature and wildlife...and I see many, many families, from grandparents to new borns come here, week in week out, spending time together is important and on that note...Happy Days.
