You have several options in terms of shape, length and style of a fringe, and, if not not happy with it you can usually change it or regrow it.

There is nothing to lose by experimenting, so the risk is minimal but the advantages can be tremendous if before you start you consider the following:

Faces fall into one of three main categories of shape and it is important to match your hairstyle and your fringe to that face shape.

If you have an OVAL face then you are extremely lucky as this seems to suit most hairstyles and you can virtually choose any kind of fringe. If you become bored with one style of fringe you can change it easily and without worry as any will suit. You can play around with the fringe quite a lot without needing a complete restyle.

With a ROUND face your choices may be slightly more limited but are still wide. You must try to avoid a wide fringe or a style that is only going to accentuate the roundness of your face.

You need instead, to choose a fringe which will make the face appear more narrow. This can be done with a fringe that is longer towards the sides and higher in the middle at the top.

If you have a SQUARE face then I recommend the asymmetric fringe as being the most suitable. It will reduce the squareness and tend to soften the appearance
