People on the move... Cheers to Liz Roberts

Just wanted to say a quick so long and best wishes to Elizabeth Roberts who is leaving her position at GITA. Most people that have been involved with GITA or a GITA event over the past 10 years will know Liz and I'm sure will also share our best wishes for her as she moves on. Liz has been my "go to" contact at GITA for a number of years and helped out tremendously with sponsorships and logistics in attending GITA events.. best of luck Liz ;0)

GITA and ACSM together

you likely heard that GITA and ACSM will co-locate in Seattle for their 2008 events ... nice idea. I saw a poll asking if the 2 coming together will influence your decision to go. Obviously, having access to 2 shows at one time is a good thing so really, that's a no-brainer.. ideally, some 2-4-1 pricing would be a great move as well (not sure if that's in the works or not but I assume there's some synergy there). This year was the first time in about 8 years that I passed on attending GITA.. mainly due to lack of time on my part and unwillingness to travel to Tampa, essentially killing 2 whole days simply for travel. Sounds like many others bailed as well as reports reveal that the show was pretty quiet. My take.. Tampa is a fun place.. perhaps too much fun and a great family destination, however, for a conference??? I'd have to say it's not a favored destination. My advice for GITA on getting numbers back up - Denver. CO. Keeping the show in Denver and perhaps moving every couple of years to an eastern locale (like Atlanta). Maybe team-up with the LIDAR forum which is also in Denver would help as well... food for thought
