2005 TIGER/Line files via free download

I love free data and I like to share free data resources... Not sure why you'd actually pay $99 for these TIGER data (I recently saw these in an online data store) but the 2005 TIGER/Line files (first edition) are freely available from http://www.census.gov/geo/www/tiger/tiger2005fe/tgr2005fe.html - all conveniently sorted by State and County... save your cash! ;0) If you need to "eat" a ton of these files grab a utility like GoZilla or a similar ftp crawler which are easily found via the cNet downloads tools. These tools are very useful. Simply point to an FTP server, specify the file type to grab (ie. .zip. gz, etc...) and the files are all downloaded to your local machine while you do something else. How about another tip... need some place names? Check out the GNS names server at http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/index.html - tehse are the same data resold via the some online data repos. for about $99... once again all conveniently served up for you...enjoy!
