Hurricane Wilma in Havana
Images: 8
This album is made up of photos taken by many people during the flood suffered by Havana City caused by Hurricane Wilma on its way to Florida. These pictures give a much better idea of what happened than the pictures I took in my block. Here you can see the waves, which were mind-boggling, and panoramic views of the flood from higher ground or buildings.
The photos are not mine. They have spread all over by email, and many cubans have already seen it. I took the liberty to publish them here, but I ought to give credit to those anonymous photographers which were in these places in the right moment. My block was flooded so I wasn't able to go and tour the city, nor I live in a high building.

Havana or Venice?
Images: 18
Photos taken where I live, near the shoreline of Havana City, during the sea flood caused by Hurricane Wilma on 2005.
The sea started to get into the land during the first hours of October 24, and reached almost four hundred meters inside. It remained there for more than 24 hours and when it left, thousands of people lost all their belongings. Read more of my impressions on this event in my blog.
