my brother thought he might try opera at some point. He likes the idea of integrated mail.

not sure what to post here, but I'm sure I can work out a way that this blog can be used for a. more serious stuff or b. more trivial stuff or c. wrterism or d. work/courseialism.
not sure which, but it could be useful to have a separate blog for these things.

I need to upgrade to 9.02 or 9.10 so that my java plugins work again

I can't get any youtube videos to play!!! Humph. I have sutomised the side-panels and extra top buttons quite extensively so the upgrading will take a lot.

City beat Fulham 3-1 before I even got up. Well done that team.
There will be a lot of late nights or early mornings when the Ashes start.

opera

I have changed my layout to this nice one with trees, but it doesn't scale well for 800x600, even with the 'fit-to-width' button on. Is there a way to smoosh it inwards a little for me?

opera
I can't use opera with Gmail, but I see this as Gmail's problem. Some people have been talking about the new Firefox, and I am tempted to try it, but I've got my opera set up to do mail after a *lot* of fiddling around. I think it does everything I want now except:
* I would like to mix bookmarks more easily, especially re-labelling nicknames
* The mail programme does not make it easy to swap messages between folders.
* otherwise it r0xx0rz. Especially the easy-add newsfeeds feature.
