A friend was looking over my shoulder at the blog the other day and asked about the profile picture here with the tree. Turns out you can see my shadow there by the tree. But the main reason I took it was to show a tree with this kind of massive outcropping of shoots on it.
So seeing all of these shoots, it should really show you how a tree can look unkempt when nobody prunes it. Some pruning shears and a bit of elbow grease and that tree's looking fantastic again. Now sure, it's a big park and nobody's jumping all over these workers, but you get the idea. There are certain trees that will do this and if you try to stay on top of it, it will look all the better for it. If they prune it, it'd be great to show a before and after shot like they do at the gym!
