Guacamole ....( This one is for Glenn ).

Delicious guacamole dip with tortilla chips.

This is a guacamole dip fixed in a MOLCAJETE.

We, mexicans, eat a lot of guacamole. It is a very easy dish to prepare. You dont need a blender, or a mixer, no...You only need a cacerole where you are going to prepare it, a fork, a wooden spoon and of course the ingredients. Here in Mexico we have one of the best avocados of the world, that is why our guacamole is great. But you, where ever you are, can do it. You need few ingredients...and you can taste it with tacos, or meat or only with tortilla chips.

In ancient times, since the aztecs, they had a stone utensil called MOLCAJETE, made just with stone. We still use it. It gaves to our food a very magic touch....Ok, here is the recipe, but remember, NO BLENDER.

INGREDIENTS:
2 lg. ripe avocados
1 tbsp. (each) lime (or lemon) juice,
1 med. tomato, skinned and finely chopped
2 tbsp. onion, minced
1/2 tsp. (each) ground coriander, salt
2-3 chopped huachinango chiles
Milk

Peel avocados, removing pits (reserve 1 pit); mash pulp with fork, add milk and smooth it. Add lime juice, tomato, onion, coriander and salt. Add the huachinango chiles and mix well with the wooden spoon. Place pit on top of guacamole dip and refrigerate (keeps dip from darkening). Remove pit when ready to serve.

Saludos!

Editado: Alguien usa licuadora para hacer guacamole??!!! :yikes: :eyes:

First off--I would like to say that I like your guardian crossed Darth Vader looking crows! They dress the cave door in an unusual way! Your creation it quite ingenious for an old witch! haha Wish I could try your family (Aztec not Myan--I stand corrected) concoction right now--all I lack are the avocados and tomato. I must tell you, however, the coriander is not one of our fav. spices! But, with the other ingredients, it may be OK --don't like cilantro either! And I think they have a similar taste! I will start with a 1/4 tsp. and increase to taste OK?! I am glad I am not required to have a wooden bowl! Someplace I have a stone bowl with an Aztec god towering over it, that a renter left some years ago (we thought they may have used it to crush up something for their happy face!!! haha). I will surely get you out of your couch to tell you what comes out!!!Thanks again Greenie Witch of the Middle! !

You are welcome dear Glenn...and...do you comments need to be always so funny ??? I am reading it and laughing, my daughter is asking me if I am reading jokes.
You dont need to put coriander or cilantro if you dont want. It is ok...hope you can make it as it must be, just the mexican style. You are going to love it.
( And dont change your writing style....I think you are the only Myopera users that have that sense or humor, and it is a blessing...).

greenwitch3 4. August 2008, 00:12

Greenie! I though you had been reading my blog. I said I it more than once that I aspired to be a comodian (that is a porcelin comedian) haha

greenwitch3 4. August 2008, 04:00

Beeeeeeeeeecky, the future bride....welcome here. And if you like recipes, I will write some for you, for your new home.

Glenn, hahahaha, so you want to be a comodian....hahaha, you are really funny. God Bless You.

uttopia 4. August 2008, 13:12

I didn't notice that Beeeeeeeeeecky meant Becky at first and thought you were talking to me Greenie---had to look up to see who my future bride was!!!!!!haha

b_laudanum 4. August 2008, 14:25

Hey Glenn, I'm a kind busy you know, things for the wedding. This week will be the same and I guess I'll be less posting and commenting... News just in the end of the month... after back from the honeymoon...

But I took a little time for me yesterday and so I kept visiting my watched blogs!

I love recipes! I have a book full of recipes. From many places of the world. And I try to make them, not just have them.

My avocados are almost right to be used! And I guess I'll do the guacamole tomorrow!

noah counte 4. August 2008, 17:57

That looks good. I don't mind the avacado turning color, but a lot of people do. It's good to learn the trick with the pit!

greenwitch3 4. August 2008, 19:12

You must read very carefully Glenn....I was talking about our dear Becky, the future bride, remember she is going to get married this week end....:hat: :hat:   So, no bride for you...sorry. ..hahahaha.

Dear Becky, I am sure that that GUACAMOLE is going to be just great....

Dear Noah, yes, the trick of the pit is good, but a little of milk helps too, and the lemon drops....you are going to like it very very much.

noah counte 4. August 2008, 19:35

If I ever have to marry again, I will elope.

greenwitch3 4. August 2008, 19:39

noah counte 4. August 2008, 19:43

Not that I don't wish you all the luck in the world, Bea (and a very happy wedding)!

uttopia 4. August 2008, 22:39

I was hoping that you would finally see the light Becky and run into MY arms! But it is apparent that you are blinded by love and will soon be out of my reach! I really didn't want to be a bigamist anyway! The best to the two of you---and I hope he doesn't smash that wedding cake all over your face as is the custom! Because you are too sweet as it is! haha
Greenie, I can not pass your bobo! Don't get mad but I don't think lemon drops will do much other than to be good to suck on later! I am sure you meant drops of lemon juice, however! See what a good cook I would make! haha
Noah, if you ever marry again, it will be for love, not money! haha

Patritzya 4. August 2008, 23:49

Besotes

greenwitch3 5. August 2008, 00:05

bug Glenn, isnt it the same lemon drops that drops of lemon? Well
the thing is that you must use LEMON on the guacamole, it is
helpful just for the color, and yes, maybe a little bit on the
flavor. Try it.

guacamole. Tal vez no has probado el sabor original del guaca-
mole y por eso te da igual. Ojalà algun dia lo puedas hacer, ya
veras como te va a encantar. Un besote para ti.

blondpony 5. August 2008, 01:08

ok, ahi tengo excusa para ir a visitarte P:

uttopia 5. August 2008, 01:51

Rocio, "lemon drops' are a almost round size of hazel nut, hard candy. Lemon flavor, of course.

Patritzya 5. August 2008, 01:52

Por supuesto que la haré!
mmm qué raro que no lleva PICANTE!... P:

Abrazos Ro, y que estés bien. :star:

noah counte 5. August 2008, 01:56

Glenn, marrying for love next time suggests I married for money last time? I did very poorly, if that is the case. I end up more broke than I started!

b_laudanum 5. August 2008, 02:40

Noah!!!!! I accept your congrats! p:

Glenn :yikes: what???? Are you suggesting that I have to be in your arms??!!!! :eyes: Jesus!!! I'll hve to keep it secret!!! p:
Dont worry about the cake! He's not crazy do to this!

uttopia 5. August 2008, 03:27

So, Noah, would you have it any other way?!?

Becky, I just wanted you to realize what you will be giving up to have someone better than I---you still have to give me up no mater how insignificant I am! Just go ahead and have a wonderful life, see if I care! haha

I always hated that cake smash thing!

noah counte 5. August 2008, 03:45

No way, Glenn. Money is overrated. I'd sure like to pay off all the bills, though.

b_laudanum 5. August 2008, 12:24

Glenn... you're a crazy guy! I keep ahead! And I'm sure I'll have a wonderful life! But I'll keep going visiting you!

noah counte 5. August 2008, 14:52

You Aussies stole it from the Americas! I did notice that Australia isn't in the top ten producers (by weight) - even Ethiopia prodices more - and that all of it's avocados come from Victoria, near Melbourne. When I move to Australia, it will definately be to to the far south.

I'm partial to haas avocados, probably because they are what I'm used to.

Huong Lan 5. August 2008, 14:54
