Extinction

introduction

Of all the species that have lived on the Earth since life first appeared here three billion years ago, only about one in a thousand are still living today. All the others have become extinct usually within ten million years after they first appeared. This in turn has contributed greatly to the current level of biodiversity on the planet. Nowadays, the extinction of species still happens. This is a world wide problem. It becomes one of the most alarming problems for people all over the world. It would influent the balanced system of ecology and our life because extinct species no longer occur anywhere on Earth, and once gone they are gone forever.so what are the causes of the extinction? For answering this question, the scientists have researched for many years. They found that the methods and causes of many species becoming endangered and extinct are many and varied such as climate change, hunting and harvesting, deforestation, and some other reasons. Yet most of them are related and caused by one all important underlying factors, humans. We can say that humans are responsible for nearly every endangered species being that way and for very many of the species that have become extinct within the past few hundred years. (thanh diem)
