My blog

It has been a very longtime, but I have been very busy. Now I am here again. I will begin with a post on the English language. To practice and ameliorate my english is one of the main reasons for writing this blog. Today I will introduce to you a list of blogs that can be helpful. Later on I will create a group of link with all of them (I will probably call it The English Language Blogs, or something similar)
Let's start with

Naked Translations

It's the blog of Céline Graciet , a French translators who lives in Brighton (UK). It discuss all the difficulties in translating from English to French (expressions, cultural differences etc.)
Very interesting and lively. Written in French and English. To have an idea you can read what Céline wrote to celebrate the first year of blogging .

Another freelance translator (English-Italian-Dutch) is Isabella Massardo , who has her own blog Taccuino di traduzione , in Italian. Very interesting comments on literature and culture.

Now a list of a few language blogs, with no particular order

Language Log
The Discouraging Word
Pain in the English
the Language Legend
Prentiss Riddle: Language
Open Brackets
On English
Teaching English in Korea
Y.H.Chen's Linguistic Site

About the use of blogs to teach and learn language, an issue in which I am very interested in (I will probably teach Italian language to foreigners in the near future) there is an interesting study by Jason Ward , an instructor at the American University of Sharjah in The United Arab Emirates.

For the moment I will stop here for lack of time, but I will come back on the subject.
