Grauhörnchen in Deutschland

da habe ich aber heute nicht schlecht gestaunt als ich das Grauhörnchen in Gelsenkirchen Buer gesehen habe. jepp, ein Grauhörnchen, kein scherz oder so was. ob es sich nun um ein ausgebüchstes einzeltier handelt oder eine kleine population gibt weiß ich nicht. habe heute leider nicht meine kamera dabei gehabt um beweißfotos zu machen. das hole ich nach, da ich davon ausgehe das tier bei einem normalen gewöhnlichen gang beobachtet zu haben. übrigens über 5 minuten lang. das wäre der hammer, grauhörnchen alarm in deutschland.

yes Linda, it´s true.
there are not the grey squirrels in Europe !
the grey squirrel is not here domestic and because of neozon. it is a heavy impact for the red. the grey have a virus that the red kill, the grey are however immune to it. to GB a small population was introduced in the 40 years of the past century. today the native red squirrel to 95% of the red extrude is. this fate could happen now also in Germany. look times for the "war of the squirrels"

I hate to hear that Dirk. Your red squirrels are so beautiful, and that is a sad fact that so many introduced species cause havoc for the native population. Hope they can do something to stop this virus. And the spread of the gray squirrels.

hi Linda,
I am not afraid that it in Germany sensitivity give. I am to be collected for quite some time into a GB forum over there experiences. it concerns to me animal protection. that grey squirrels white it this deadly virus in itself does not carry. it to kill is not ethic correct. in GB there are the most violent arguments over it. first my observation should be confirmed by a picture. afterwards I with the German animal protection organizations contact to take up. then we continue to see.

Hi Dirk,
habt ihr im Ruhrgebiet eigentlich auch schwarze Eichhörnchen? Hier im Süden (Franken) kann man ab und an welche sehen - aber wirklich gaaanz selten!

moin djquentin,
das eichhörnchen was wir kennen , ob rot oder schwarz und die ganzen farbschläge dazwischen, ist immer die selbe art. man(n) glaubt das es eine natürliche farbverteilung durch andere futter&lebensgewohnheiten gibt. also, in bayern schwarz und ganz oben in schweswig-holstein die hellroten. bei uns gib es rote und schwarze & die mischformen dazwischen, wenn auch nicht so farbstark wie in den erwähnten ländern.
