A week of Opera: Week 38, 2010

We found that more than 1 in 10 Opera desktop users are using Opera Turbo. We also released a new snapshot with startup and shutdown profiling, which will be of help when troubleshooting unusually long startup or shutdown times.
Jon did an interview with Memeburn on the future of mobile computing, where he also reveals that there are 500,000 downloads of Opera every single day.
Opera reached a respectable 16% of the votes in Lifehacker's browser poll (who also fixed the Opera icon they were using, and replaced the old one with the new Opera O).
Our ever-busy Dev Relations team held various talks, such as one on HTML5 audio and video in London. They also published a list of upcoming talks, so take a look in case they are somewhere near you in the coming months!
The (work) week ended with a mysterious new page on opera.com about something called "Up North Web", which tells you to prepare for an avalanche on October 14 this year. No one seems to know what this means exactly, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
