I work in the Desktop (QA) department at Opera, and I try to stay updated on everything that happens in our user communities. Even though I work for Opera Software, the opinions stated herein do not necessarily represent those of my employer.

Hey Haavard.

I see that you and several others at Opera are blogging, and that many of you have posted similar "disclaimers" about how the opinions stated in the blog not necessarily represent those of your employer.

Why do you think such a disclaimer is necessary? Is it a legal requirement, a clarification, or something else?

I enjoy your blog and the many links you provide to Opera-relevant material across the web. Keep up the good spirit. :-)

It is not a requirement, but if I happen to post something which might reflect badly on Opera Software I want to make sure that people understand that these are my personal thoughts, for the most part.

actually it was a good question, I was wondering the same thing myself. Hopefully the good people at opera would know that your blog will have your opinions with or without the disclaimer.

Just make sure that everyone knows that you are expressing your own opinion and not your employer's (especially when it's something that can cause problems) and I think everything will be ok.

? I think it's a good disclaimer...and definitely a good thing to have for a person in his position

Help me, Haavard! I think Opera saves cache for faster browsing, but it's a problem. When I accidentally change my Blog Link of a post, and I change again, Opera still remembers the first link and so, afterward I click to the comments of this post and "404 not found" appears ! Cause it leads to a page not existed due to the old URL still in Opera Cache. How to delete this cache on server or else I must delete this post and make a new one ? I don't want to lose my friends 'comment on it ! Any Suggestion ?

Hei Håvard.
Kjekt å finne en som kan hjelpe. Carol har anbefalt deg, og My Opera har henvist meg til deg. I går skjedde noe som jeg ikke likte. Den ene bloggen min var full av linker til porno. For det meste barne og dyre porno. Alle var merket som spam, og (heldigvis) tydelig merket som noe andre hadde passert der, men med de automatiske robotene som leter etter sider med slike linker m.m. har jeg vel havnet både i politiets og redd barnas liste over suspekte personer. Jeg har mistanke om at det var et gammelt upopulært innlegg fra en annen på bloggen min, som hadde tiltrukket seg dette. Desverre (kanskje), slettet jeg alt så fort som mulig. Du ville vel likt å kunne se det for å finne evt avsender m.m., men jeg tenkte ikke på det, og ønsket bare å bli kvitt det så fort som mulig.
Anbefaler du forresten å melde dette til politiet?

May be off topic but been with you a long time and REALLY appreciated Opera .... this build 10 is far better now all we need is a spell check that doesn't jun tell it wrong but lets us paste correct ones Thanks. Sorry not all is spelling a lot is mistyping errors.
