OK. Non-Parking and $300

But first, a quick shot of Blagden Alley the morning of Wednesday, February 3:

Then, back to the front of the house to see how well the "No Parking" posters

are working. Answer, not well. In mid-afternoon there were lots of tickets:

That's $300.00 right there.
But there were a lot of open space on the curb, so that whoever is doing the work that shuts down parking on one side of three blocks could park some equipment and say "We're really serious this time!". Given the weather forecasts, the editor doesn't expect any action from the phantom road fixers until Monday. But it should be profitable for the District.
The editor seems to recall times during the Convention Center construction when some section of a block would be posted "no parking" for a month and the work wouldn't begin for a week or two. It was usually just a few days work, but blocking out the whole month made the construction folks' scheduling easier. The effect on the neighborhood did not seem to be a concern.
