CCCA Prez writes: I was on the 1300 b/o 7th St with friends when the shots ran out and folks started running away from the entrance of 1330 7th St and the corner of the Giant parking lot. So brazen that it happened in broad daylight. They don't have shootings like this in Gallery Place, but you often see several foot patrols on the street every day.

Anonymous writes: We currently do have foot patrols in the neighborhood. (a recent change) It's a large area to cover and ideally the officers should have bikes. Now they park their car in one location and walk from M street to S Street and 9th to 10th etc. The rotating door of the justice system and the low quality of the school system both contribute to continued crime. The stats may be down but overall they are still way too high. Perhaps a letter of support for bike mounted police would be a reasonable proposal.
