Blagden Alley and Naylor Court Jesting

OK. We really are in Precinct 129

Redistricting can be a bitch, but we are still in Ward 2.

A couple of weeks ago, the editor received a letter with official cutout for voter ID in the mail. It said "Precinct 129". Editor said "can't be".

He got another letter. This time he actually went to the DCBOEE web site and saw this. By gosh, we (Blagedn Alley and Naylor Court, over to Eleventh Street, really are in Precinct 129, along with Hains Point and the Lincoln Memorial. Not that they vote, but it might, in a slow moment, make good cocktail party conversation.

Voting is at the MLK Library at Ninth and G. Lovely parking down there.

Update

The editor read the letter more thoroughly. Check DCBOEE for early voting. Parking could more convenient, but you would miss the nice chat with the gantlet of political types.

He also noted a bar code on the ID cutout. Should make the election a bit better, as computers can check in real time for double voting in case you voted early and forgot and showed up on election day by mistake. Or intentionally in Ward 8.

The editor guesses that it could be changed in a year or two. Of course, Precinct 17 is Metropolitan AME on the 1500 block of M, so it might be a tossup for convenience. Back when he went to the library (post internet but ante serious web sites) there was some downstairs parking.
