LT Smith is retiring. He and Colleen expect to be esconced in Palm Coast, Florida by November. That's somewhat south of Jacksonville.
The editor will have more to say later, but we on the west side of the Convention Center, in Naylor Court, Blagden Alley and points west really got lucky. He has made an enormous difference in the quality of life over the last several years. PSA 307 has not been a maintenance job. There was real work to be done and he and his people did it. There is more to go, but the renovation and new construction around here, as well as the good police work, should make the next PSA commander's job much more straightforward. The new Mayor's constituent services group is a good part of the improvement, and that isn't retiring. Mike made a difference when it was hard and when it counted.
