Development

The anarchist bookshop in the 1400 block of Ninth Street (NW) is closing. The WaPo story is here.
In terms of development, this is probably gentrification on the march. Something more bourgois will probably replace it. The bookstore always reminded the editor of the East Village in the 60's. And look what happened to the East Village since then.
Also, of course, the neighborhood graffitti will probably be a bit more mundane. And sparser, too, which would be a nice change.
