Two things:
First: (MPD) Chief Lanier sent out an email with a bunch of useful links. The DC Triathlon Club (that's not the Hash House Harriers, folks!) formatted it nicely here.
Second: The editor knows someone who chatted with some of the busy neighbors, and some of these neighbors had no real idea of the travel restrictions coming. So, since you're reading this blog, and probably many others and are probably very clued in, talk to the neighbors and make sure they are ready. Most really are. However, some work their butts off and don't have much time for the news. (Even then, that might not be much of a help!) If you suspect that, just mention the upcoming excitement, getting cars off the street, Virginia being off limits for a day or two, and that sort of thing. You may save someone some real inconvenience.
