My OperaMore Thoughts on 1258 Tenth Street

Yesterday I posted some good news for Tenth Street here. The ones pushing it over the top are Mark Bjorge and Abby Peterson, in the Mayor's office.
But these kinds of problems, the long term ones, are really a matter of teamwork over the years. Most of the people who tried to solve the 1258 problem have moved on. They didn't get it solved, but they chipped away at it consistently, so that the people who came later have a better chance at solving the problem.
Certainly LT Mike Smith and his crew have made an enormous difference over the last few years. But Joe Martin, who preceded Mark and Abby worked hard at it. Sean Metcalfe and John Ralls in Jack's office have done their part. Way back when, the editor remembers LT Andy Solberg, of MPD, as vastly improving the quality of life around here, and that included holding down the problems at 1258. Also, later on, officers Fasso, Marek, and Xanten. A lot of good people have been involved, probably some from the US Attorneys office, as well.
These situations, often with a very old mother or grandmother, and wayward (notice the understatement) progeny involve legal, regulatory, and police issues, each not quite rising to the level of actually throwing the people out of the house. Making sure that mother or grandmother, who may be incapacitated in some fashion, is not hurt while getting the kids out of the neighborhood is just complex.
So congratulations and thanks to all involved, present and past.
