Can You Say "Cluster Foxtrot"

Sunday evening the editor was in the kitchen, trying to come down from the excitement of the Pro Bowl, when the wife walks in and says, "you should see the traffic jam out front". So the editor looks out the front window. Then the editor grabs his camera.
Turns out, he's not alone. Ron Branch, the Transportation Manager for the Convention Center, is already there:

Mr. Branch is not happy. The plan for the end of the convention is staging the 18-wheelers and other transports at RFK stadium and bringing them to the CC on a controlled basis. To be perfectly honest, the editor doesn't see what the CC can do besides set up the traffic plans. The enforcement of the plan is with the District and most especially, the owners of the show. When the CC hosts a convention, they really don't control their building anymore. It's leased out to the organizers of the show, and the CC personnel can't even go on to the display floors without the organizers permission. What are you going to tell the exhibitors? If it happens again, you'll have to take your show elsewhere? Right.
Here's what he was looking at:

the 1100 block of Ninth Street, and

the corner of Ninth and M going into the loading area entrances in the "tunnel" of the CC.
The truckers were sort of patient. Not too many horns heard.
Back on 900 M Street, we had this:

or, for the record,

and

and, the trucker's cuteness

The editor checked on Partlow. It's just a few miles west of Ladysmith on I95, just below Fredericksburg, along with Green Bay, Beaverdam, Buckner, and Bumpass (!). Think Lake Anna territory.
The editor chatted with the lead guy of the bunch on M Street. He'd seen the sign
at Tenth and M:

but a policeman had directed them this way because of problems turning the car hauling equipment.
Actually, the editor believes him. The drivers for these shows are the elite of drivers, and their rigs are always spotless.
We'll see what happens next year
