Theft From Trash

Every few Blagden Alley meetings, someone mentions that they saw someone walking down the sidewalk or driving by, stop, pull out a bag of trash from the trash can, and take it away to goodness knows where. The presumption is that people are going through the trash for credit card and bank statements which have account numbers on them. This became an on-going topic several years ago, and has not gone away. On O Street one time, the car had VA license plates, so the neighborhood must be on the famous list. Since it's a recurring topic, it must be profitable to some people.
So, if you can, shred the important papers you toss in the trash. The editor has had one brush with someone using his credit card number nefariously. Got by it okay, but it is a reminder.
