Dog Stuff

John Kelley has a column in today's WaPo on the subject of dog walking and its result. The editor has seen most of it, and stepped in it too. The recent snows led to an interesting phenomenon: Since the grass was no longer visible, any snow was a pooch target. Then the melting came, and the dog doo-doo wound up in the middle of the sidewalk. Nice.
Kelley did leave out one aspect of the business that homeowners have all learned by now. You put your trash can by the curb. DPW empties it and puts it back on the curb, open. You need to retrieve it quickly and put it out of reach behind your fence. Otherwise it will become a repostory for a little bag of that stuff. Lovely.
Side Note:
The editor read the column on the dead tree version of the WaPo and then did the blog posting two floors away from the paper. So he had to go to the website of the WaPo and try to find it. He did, finally. The WaPo site is, shall we say, hard to maneuver in. Further, "WaPo" must also be the their new streamlined name. "www.washingtonpost.com" gets you to the same place as "www.wapo.com".
