The 900 block of L Street:

At least they left one lane open. The dump trucks are slated to use the Jersey-barriered lane, after having waited in the blocked off southbound lane (actually two lanes) of the 1100 block of Ninth Street.

And the same for the 1000 block of Ninth:

Ah, you say, what about the busses (it was doubled-essed when the editor grew up) you say? Not a problem. Here's the helpful notice at Ninth and Massachusetts:

That was easy. Of course, the "between l & M" is also no longer operable, but the extra walk is probably good for the bus riders.
The editor expects some screaming and shouting over the next few years about the trucks and other problems caused by the construction. Having lived through the construction of the current convention center, the editor knows that survival is possible, if not always comfortable. There are fairly solid plans for the staging of the dump trucks, as well as other construction deliveries. Said plans will occasionally fray around the edges but the editor is confident that the authorities will set things right in short order.
