Parking Again. And Again.

On Monday the "No Parking" posters went up on the north side of the 900 block of M Street, and apparently on N Street, too. Prohibited times were 7:00am to 4:30pm, if memory serves, from Feb 24 to Mar 15.
By mid-day the notices were gone. Richard Neidich said the N Street ones also appeared to be gone.
A good guy from DDOT who knows this neighborhood well is tracking, or at least trying. The notices are supposed to have a contractor name (e.g., "Pepco") and a reference number to a project on them. These don't.
In general these "no parking" are an inconvenience. But when they block out a full month, across several blocks, it gets serious. And even more serious when snow berms on the south sides of streets severely curtails parking there. The handling of the posters is not perfect, and probably can't be. Contractors are handed a bunch of blank posters and told to get their job done. There are some guidelines, such as at least a three business day warning. The editor is guessing something serious is going to get done but has no idea what.
There is a good chance we'll find out at the Blagden Alley meeting tomorrow night.
