In 1933, RKO pictures released the original King Kong, which told the tale of a giant gorilla1? on a prehistoric island whose heart is captured by aspiring2? actress Ann Darrow (Fay Wray), while the rest of him is captured and taken by filmmaker Carl Denham (Robert Armstrong) to New York City for exhibition. Kong escapes and it is up to the military to shoot him down from the top of the Empire State Building3, Kong's only concern being that Ann doesn't die in the process.
