This advert has been on television a few times today and it got me thinking. The advert had a guy who knew these embarrassing facts about this girl he had not long met - her first album bought, celebrity crush...that sort of thing. He found out by texting this number. The advert got me thinking about how a lot of people will wonder how all these facts can be so readily available. I thought to myself, 'It is dangerous that people whack all this information about themselves online via Facebook or some place else and don't realise that this is all being collated'.
They don't realise that prospective employers look this up, for example. Prospective employers would be interested in profile updates such as, 'Drunk again, day off work' - that kind of drivel. Heck, even your online viewing habits are recorded which is why I rarely use Google and go for a private search engine instead. I know that a lot of my chums here are also clued up and that they use Tor for reasons other than to download internet porn!
Anyway, over the years I have left details about myself littered all around the interweb. I thought that I'd save you all the expense of sending a premium rate text to find out all about me. Yes, I will now detail everything about me here in this blog post. Why? Because I'm so thoughtful like that.

The day has finally come, that day that I previously announced as the day I had chosen to deactivate my Facebook account. I signed up in all naivety several years ago and now I've done what most people really should do and just...leave!

This morning I woke up with a headache and next to my side of the bed was an almost empty bottle of vodka and a half spent carton of orange juice - and an empty glass. Thankfully, this was not another life falling out of control
moment. Last night I had been enjoying myself completely for the first time in - I don't know how long.

Further to my previous godfather post I have been asked to be a godfather to two more children.
I posted that Gloria and I had been asked to be godparents to her best friend's as of yet unborn son. Since then, her two daughters have asked for us to be their godparents as well.

The last week or so has been quite uneventful, but not tedious.
To describe how uneventful it has been, the other day I found myself musing which novelist would have written about a life like mine. This actually is not the first time in my life I have found myself amusing myself with such a thought. Thankfully, the answer was not Jeffrey Archer and never has been. Now that would be tedious.

It was a very enjoyable day today centred around a wedding that could be viewed as both traditional and modern. The traditional part of the wedding was represented by the bride being late for the ceremony; the nerves and sheer happiness of the bride and groom; and a sigh of "aahhh!" from the wedding congregation (that sigh was from my wife Gloria by the way). Meanwhile, the modern element of the wedding was shown by the bride being escorted down the aisle by her four children from two previous relationships; the bride then being given away by her son; and that the bride and groom only met within the last year via Facebook. I don't think that there's ever been a happier wedding at any time or at any place.
