Weekend Get-away

Open Source, Computers, Techy, Google

Ok so I figure I'd better let anyone I haven't told yet know that I'm going to be going away for the weekend up to a cabin for my Mom's birthday (Thank you Brian for that silly message by the way), we're going to be getting back on Tuesday, so I'll probably post some stuff then!

Also, I was just watching some Google Tech Talks I'd downloaded and I found one that is -extremely- interesting and cool. So, I shall link you to the Google Video page and the website it talks about. I recommend downloading the program (Dasher) and following along.

Pleasant Suprises

Phone, Catherine, Suprises, Friends ...

I was pleasantly surpised this evening and I just have to share =p

Anyway, Catherine has been grounded from the phone for the past week or so (I think since the Friday before last) and I called on Tuesday only to be told she wasn't available, so I figured she'd been grounded but all the same I figured I'd call tonight, which confirmed my suspicions.

So I go and resign myself to reading while I waited for Kevin to get done with the computer and out of no where.... a puppy died. Wait, wrong line! Out of no where Catherine called! It seems her mom loves me enough to give us 30 minutes to talk ^_^

So yeah, I'm pretty much estatic!

Oh and the moral of this story is:
Parents are good to be friends with.

P.S. I'ma post an "Outdoor Adventures" thinger tomorrow ^_~

Today we morn the loss of a good friend who many know as Cookie, but he wished for you all to know her full name: Oatmeal Walnut Rasin. I'm sure you can see the connection to her namename.

She died earlier this afternoon in a terrible accident. You see her lover was trying to open the door to his room, but it was Bewbie Trapped! So as soon as the door was opened she was flug from her bed and into the trash! The suspect is still at large, but if you see a man with light brown hair down to his shoulder blades, normally tied back in a pony-tail, a slightly graying mustache, a "Done Vida" bracelet, and three pounds of bacon grease and the bacon to go with, please report him immesdiately!

P.S. The Moral of this story is:
Never open a box of cookies over the trash.

Outdoor Adventures - Movie Afternoon

So yeah, I was finally let out of the house! Meaning it's time for another edition of "Outdoor Adventures with Patrick Morganthol"

In today's episode of "Outdoor Adventures" we'll be talking about the Movie Afternoon! For those unfamiliar with the term, it's basically a Movie Night only in the Afternoon! Now that you all know the terminology for today, we can proceed! I'm sure you're all itching to learn more, so I won't hold you up any longer!

Right. So while not holding things up, we'll move right along! So, this Movie Afternoon was held at Catherine's House where there were originally going to be 3 people, but the other two had to depart on another Outdoor Adventure or something.

Anyway, no longer holding up the story. At this Movie Afternoon we watched "The Crow" and "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children", oh, and some Gackt Music Videos.

Anyway, after that we still had an hour and a half left before we were supposed to go, so we went shopping on the Moma website which has lots of cool, but way too expensive, things! I'm just glad to know she's as morbidly afraid of spiders as I am! Too bad it means I can't marry her, because we'll both just huddle together as far away from the spider as possible T.T

Unfortunately she's not near as ticklish as I am, meaning I have little to get back at her with when she pokes me. But despite that, which wasn't too bad since she's not as cruel as some people coughBrianandCodycough, I had a great time ^_^

I'm thoroughly fed up with everyone's agendas these days, and heck, even the counter-agendas you have to push to prevent getting trampled on.
_{Note: Commenting is discouraged, and most will be deleted, I don't want any kind of debate happening, I'm just venting.}

So yeah, this is just some of the stuff that's been bugging me lately, and since it's my blog I can say whatever I want without fear of offending anyone (Oooooo ~wiggles fingers~), tha and you get short, one line summeries about things instead of long, hard to follow paragraphs!

Acceptance and equality :
"I'm part of a minority! If you don't give me everything I want, I'll take you to court for oppression!"
- Don't be so open minded your brain falls out.

Gay rights and marriage :
"We want everything we want, and to be fair, we'll let you keep what you already have!"
- Fair. Ha. Fair is give and take, you just take.

Wars (in general) :
"I don't want to be safe!"
- I say we should send them to an unsafe country, like North Koera. They might rethink their stance then.

Then of course there's always the constant strain of politics virtually every where you go, because people just can't be happy until they can make everyone do what they want, so then you have to play the political game too or else get trampled on.

Not to mention the large number of stupid people we have to live with these days too:

Ok, now see, I'm getting rid of ()'s to hold comments (like these). Instead I'm using CSS to style my commenty things with abbr tags! Woohoo! Meaning, whenever you see this you just have to mouse over it!

In other news, the would should do more negotiations instead of debates! Ignoring the fact I want to make Google Debates. >.>

Ok, currently I've only got one log but I've got it setup to post more! It finally decided the be able to show me the source from OperaIRC (Yes, it's all HTML, very similar to Google Talk, meaning it can be styled with CSS) so now you can see it how I see it!
